Don't you just love Hickory Mound? It is so beautiful. Sometimes I just drive down there for the nice scenery. It's a great place for star gazing, too. We use to go there at night & catch shrimp with a net, and head light. You touched on a pet peeve of mine. I can't believe how people can throw their garbage on the ground. Nature is too beautiful to be disrespected like that. God bless.

really cool video it has been a while since i hav done handling all from the boat now. but wanted to share something with u i heard u say if the died in the cooler no good. so i crab just bout every week here in maryland and i steam them bout 1 to 2 days after i catch them i cover the bottom of cooler with ice then crabs then pack ice on top (i do drain the water ever 6 hours or so) then i steam them and there is no way of telling which ones are dead or alive and for the 12 years that i hav been doing that i hav never had a bad crab. my golden rule is as long as they are alive when u put them on ice you are good. im not telling you how u should do it just wanted to share what I do.

Our family has been hand-lining for generations. It’s great! We steam them in the same pot setup. 3 cans of beer 3 cups of vinegar 1 cup of old bay Throw in a half-bushel of (whole) crabs and layer another cup of old bay on top with another splash of vinegar. Let the crabs steam for 10 minutes until the ones on top are nice and red. All those leftover guts and shells make amazing compost for the garden.
