We use to crabbing at Green Key Beach in Florida with chicken wings on a string and caught so many along the mangroves when the tide came in. We dropped a whole bucket in the car , the next day one crab we missed was fighting with a Pepsi can. Fond memories
Stalekracker is also a Trooper down here. His season recipe was his Grandpa's recipe. His mission was to keep it around and ended up turning it into a business. I work for him from time to time when they need extra help. He likes to go around doing fundraisers for our Veterans.
Oh my gosh, that makes me miss Louisiana so bad! I love the food, and living up north right now I can’t find anybody that eats it like I do!😊 I’m glad to see y’all enjoyed your trip!❤
Happy 4th of July everyone. Houston...do your best to remember all of these trips your parents take you on. They are worth the effort to see & experience the work of fishing & crabbing. I still remember most of the trips my parents took me on when I was young like you. Crab can be a lot of work & is a bit messy, but the flavor makes it worth it all.
I’m from SW Florida. All my family from SW Florida we’re commercial fishermen who crabbed during the offseason of mullet. They fished the 10,000 islands. It was a hard but fun life. It was stone crabs that they caught.
Hi guys. I'm from South Africa. I don't even like fishing but I love you guys fishing. I am addicted to your videos. Thanks for the lovely entertainment. Love u guys.
Remember that from when we were stationed at Elgin AFB. But we went crabbing first. That's fun!! Would love to be there with you. Enjoy yourselves greatly!!🙏🇺🇸🐟🦀🐠
Eat’n crabs is the best time to get caught up on the family gossip .. you have time to talk in between the eat’n!! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching y’all in the land of my peoples! Thanks Jerrod!
These videos are reminding me of my time in New Orleans after Katrina too. I was there with my church about a year afterwards working on a house that was completely shifted but still standing and still salvageable.
Crabs are always a lot of work to eat. When you get used to having a bushel of crabs every summer, and cleaning a pile of them to make homemade crab cakes, ummm, it is so good and you just can’t wait to clean more. Crabs are definitely a lot of work. Those shrimp were amazing in SIZE ,!
Maybe Houston had the right idea with the chicken. As a child our family would go crabbing in Baltimore and we used chicken necks tied to string. We always caught tons of crabs. But Maryland Old Bay seasoning is the way to go.
Happy 4th of July to everyone! Good job trying to get those nets in with some crabs for dinner. Outside the Levee didn't tell the crabs to be gathered up for a huge haul! Lol. Daniel, You and Houston have a very special bond, I love seeing the Love Shared between you both! 😘👍🙏🏻😎😇🤗❣️🇺🇸🎆🎇
Those are the best crabs , shrimp and oysters . Love the food in south LA… I’m from NLA exported to TX long ago. I’m impressed at Houston’s ability to do these things.. he learns fast. I see him watching you n other fishing ones closely, learning all the time. I have a friend who makes SOLO, La cajon seasoning. A pinch will do great in this dish plus soups, stews, meat season too. Her SoLo is in Walmarts across the south… yummy!
Hi Daniel and Houston. Love watching yall catching blue crabs Houston needs to be a little faster. Food looks great. Happy Fourth of July. God bless and love yall ❤❤
So glad you were having here in my home city!! Houston you're not the only one who burns your tongue on boiled corn!! I do it all the time. Can't have my seafood without my corn & potatoes.
Blue crabs and a chicken leg on a cotton string and nice summer afternoon. We would catch a bushel basket full . My kids were 5&7 it was southern Maryland 1989 . Wonderful memories ❤️❤️❤️
So glad to see ya'll in Louisiana! Wish we could have met you. My 3 year old nephew wakes up every morning to watch his "fishing boys" before going to daycare. We are in NE Louisiana, but we enjoy those crab and shrimp boils up here too. Just had the same exact meal over the Fourth of July weekend! My son works in south Louisiana and brings crabs, shrimp, pineapple sausage, blueberry sausage home to us. Have you ever tried their Cajun Deer Tamales? Please let us know if you ever plan to visit NE Louisiana. Great hunting areas.
I know kids don't like to experiment that much, but oh boy is Houston going to be sorry later at missing it. I remember the first time I tried (and enjoyed) a smelt fry and one of the aunts told me welcome to being an adult - lol. I was drooling over this one.
We have those sausages here in North Louisiana. Farmerville, LA, Big Star Grocery Store sells those different flavors of sausage. Love the pineapple. Mark loves the jalapeños cheddar flavor.
Yes. While in south Texas I had some blue crab and its not my fav.. too much work for me!! Dungenous crab is awesome.. I like that 😊 so happy you all are having a good time. Yeah, Houston looks a little tired. It's rough having fun lol!❤❤❤
@@OutsidetheLevees We actually remove the back and clean out all the goo. marinate it and while its cooking add the milk and leave it to simmer for a bit. Some people will dump the crabs in boiling for just a bit to kill them. But we never cook the crab whole. And yes, it's delish. The dumplings are cooked separately, also in some coconut milk (optional). One can't visit T&T without indulging.
Daniel - we stuff the crawfish heads with a breadcrumb / crawfish tail mixture and put them in our Crawfish Bisque... another "soup" type dish that is "to die for" down here in south LA... hope you enjoyed our way of life amigo!!
Great video. Love it when someone from somewhere else tries our food , culture and high temps, food and climate and does us right. Hope y’all enjoyed your trip down south. LOL , my daughter had me boil crabs for Fathers Day couple weeks ago.
Daniel, The Yellowstone seasoning is a chef from Louisiana. It's his seasoning an you are in Louisiana. They don't sell it in my state 😄I lived in Raceland for 8 months an it's a whole different world down there. But I love nature an that place an the people I meet.
Dan, try some "Slap yo Momma" Cajun spice (It was right next to the one you got). It is awesome! I still go to SAM's to find that garlic butter you used on fish. Thanks for the head's-ip!
