I recently tried this product and thought I was wearing it wrong because my wafer got wet enough I had to change it right after I finished drying off. I will say it did keep the bag dry but that seems pointless to me as when the wafer gets wet for my particular appliance (especially a warm/hot shower) then it almost always requires a change. I'm going to give it another shot with as cool a shower as I can stand but I still don't feel confident taking full on showers yet. Nice review by the way, I appreciate your channel a lot.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, steam can be problematic with this type of shower guard because it's hard to keep out. Cooler showers (or at least showers that aren't creating a lot of steam) are better of you want to keep your appliance dry. Good luck!

I want to thank you for making these videos. I got my colostomy about a month now and your advice and uplifting personality has helped me A LOT because you made me feel kind of "normal". I broke my foot shortly before the operation and I've only taken one shower so far. I went in with nothing. No foot wrap or wafer and bag. The foot is wrapped again so no showers for me :(

This would be a handy device for me because maybe it would allow for my hollister filters to keep working after taking a shower!

Yes,if you don't have tape or stickers to cover the filter, this would absolutely work. It also keeps the very absorbant Hollister cloth fabric nice and dry!

The problem is the base which I am warring about of getting wet not the bag.

This product will help, but steam will still make the base of the appliance damp. There should be no problem with your baseplate getting wet under most circumstances, including swimming. If it peels, you can try a wafer extender.

Hi Afran, I recommended sampling several brands that are available to you. Your options may be different from what I have available, and each person is unique. The major brands like Coloplast and Hollister will have good products to start with. 👍

To be honest, not that I've seen, but I'm sure some can be rotated to accommodate a horizontal bag placement. Since you're only using these for very little time, I think it would work without any real issues.

Good question. They aren't usually necessary unless you're trying to solve a specific problem. Perhaps you're trying to protect a surgical wound or you might want to keep your appliance dry. But many people simply shower without a guard. 😀

Do yo want this pretty tight? I have one but I think I bought the wrong size as water pours underneath and into the pouch bag.

It should be snug, but not overly tight. Is the water actually getting in from the top or do you think it's condensation that's causing the bag to get wet (I've had this happen)?

+Hotmia26 That's a good question. If I'm wearing my bag vertically then I'll use a wrap to keep it up, but trimming/shaving down there is easy when I'm wearing my bag horizontally and with a support belt.
