I like how instead of diving straight to Mizu's and Taigen's duel they show them running calculations in their heads that show either defeat or mutual death, which incredibly accurate to real duels of old, it was actually pretty common (And documented) for both opponents to injure each other at the same time and/or kill each other in an instant, it also shows the audience the seriousness of this fight, that this is THE DUEL and I love it, the build up and anticipation pays up SO WELL
In my opinion, Mizu's fighting style at the beginning of the video is more reminiscent of ninjutsu than kendo... but who cares, the scene is a masterpiece in itself
I think the creators were saying that because she's self taught and learned from observing various fighters, she doesn't fight with any specific style. They deliberately made her stance wrong, and the way she holds her sword is also different to the standard way.
@@taichi29 So maybe you've missed some of the best ones, have you ever watched Samurai Champloo, Katanagatari, Sword of the Stranger, Afro Samurai, Blade of the Immortal, Hellsing, KARAS, Tower of Druaga ? These are some of the best anime series and animated movies of all times.
As a martial artist, I’ll tell you the name of that wooden sword, it’s called a bokken or you can call it a bokuto based on their types. It’s mainly for training tho
The only part of this series I didn't like was as the story got going was how impossibly quickly she recovered from multiple serious stab and slashing wounds that all happened in I presume a short span of time to a physical place where she was able to out fight just as strong or multiple people at such a high level. It felt like she had impossible plot armor so I ended up skipping the last episode because it was just to unbelievable.
@@awesomerandomclips01 I grew up age 8 to mid 30's now learning hand to hand combat. I couldn't help but notice. However it is overall a great story, interesting characters and beautiful animation.
I hated the end to the first fight where the sword skates across the edge of the blade... that feels like with the sparks it would mean the blade is dulled. I want to like this show.
I don't why the scenes doesn't intrigued me to watch te show ........ Probably because of the screenplay , the dialogue And there are people to convince us to watch this show after shogun...... you gotta been kidding
Why have it animated? Aside from the gore, every other fight scene was achievable by using actors and props (so cheaper). Dunno, with animation you expect something fast and coherent, like Sword of a stranger or something and not a wuxia flick
@@asdasasdas3476 Your comment still sits rent free in my head, how exactly? Cause I see Tarantino being able to pull it off with actors. I must be missing somethin
Netflix just cannot make a male as a main character if it means they'll show that women are weaker (Like in the real life). The show is still great tho. At least the battles are nicely made, that's a plus.
