Thank you all for the heartfelt comments you left behind on the soundtrack of this incredible series.
Outtakes:
Madame Kaji quotes Musashi's third principle of combat strategy:
''Become acquainted with every art.''

Taigen quotes from the dharma lotus flower sutra:
Then, the Brahma Heaven Kings bowed with their heads at the Buddha’s feet, circumambulated him a hundred thousand times, and scattered heavenly flowers upon him. The flowers were piled as high as Mount Sumeru, and they offered them as well to the Buddha’s Bodhi tree, which was ten yojanas in height. Having made offerings of flowers, each presented his palace to the Buddha, saying,“pray show us pity, and benefit us by accepting and occupying these palaces that we offer you!”

Other Hagakure sayings:
A certain person was brought to shame, because he did not take revenge.
The way of revenge lies in simply forcing one’s way into a place and being cut down.
There is no shame in this.
By thinking that you must complete the job you will run out of time.
By considering things like how many men the enemy has, time piles up; in the end you will give up.
No matter if the enemy has thousands of men, there is fulfillment in simply standing them off and being determined to cut them all down. Starting from one end, you will finish the greater part of it.
__
When the time comes, there is no moment for reasoning. And if you have not done your inquiring beforehand, there is most often shame. Reading books and listening to people’s talk are for the purpose of prior resolution.

If a person has his sword out all the time, he is habitually swinging a naked blade;
people will not approach him and he will have no allies. If a sword is always sheathed,
it will become rusty, the blade will dull, and people will think as much of its owner.

From the movie Sword of Doom (1966)
The sword is the soul. [of the Samurai]
Study the soul to know the sword.
Evil mind, evil sword.

Before I began, I set aside almost 4 hours of the series. Condensing such a timeframe into mere minutes, while still trying to remain faithful to the source material, seemed practically destined for failure. In an attempt to compensate for this inevitable setback, I sought music that could encompass the essence of this series. This made compiling and fusing together specific sections of different tracks mandatory. The only thing I had clear in my mind beforehand was 00:20, so I started out with Mizu's suite and added Melted Metal & Mizu's Rebirth.
Eventually I made a mix of: stranger in town, a beautiful beast, journey to the ninth level, fowler's conquest and mind our own soul.
I ended up not using it after realizing I could overlap the series (+20db) with the soundtrack here 0:44 to 1:20. As these gifts are rare I decided to continue from there. (The track during the episode is not entirely the same as on the soundtrack, near the end at least, so I ended up muting the drums and the incense sparks.)
I initially believed that the bullying, training, love, betrayal, and combat scenes were absolutely mandatory to include, but unintentionally, and with small steps, this clip ended up focusing on Mizu and Swordfather. Looking back on it, perhaps like it was always meant to be.
The sword represents more than just a physical weapon; it embodies the essence of its wielder's soul, reflecting the emotions, thoughts, and character within the person who wields it.
