A few years back, I received a VHS tape of old 8mm movies from a former neighbor of mine. My husband digitized it. This video is of some Blue Island 4th of July parades from the mid-60's. The beginning part shows some friends practicing their "dragon" character for the parade. They were practicing at the bottom of Grove St. hill when it was a dead end. I lived in the second house from the end. I'm including the parade footage because of the storefronts, vehicles, and because maybe someone out there recognizes/remembers a participant.
