As a Giants fan, the 2014 royals was a hard team to root against. Not only am I a Giants fan but just all around baseball fan. unlike most of the Giants fan base, I enjoy watching talent throughout the league and not just focusing on my team. but holy shit did this royals team have some amazing young talent. Cain is an absolute beast in the outfield, Hosmer is going to be a stud for years to come, was glad to see Moustakas finally have success with his bat and not to mention the three headed monster in the pen but I've been a huge fan of Alex Gordon since he made it to the big leagues and i still think he is the most underrated outfielder in all of baseball. The guy can do it all with his glove, arm, bat and legs honestly one of the best all round players in the league. I'd tip my cap to that royals team any day.
Giants fan here, you guys played a hell of a series. Of the 3 teams we've faced in the World Series over these past 5 years, you guys were easily the best team, there's no shame in going the distance. I'd have rooted for you guys if you didn't have to face my Giants. I hope you all get to see your team win it all, it was one of the highlights of my life to see the Giants win in 2010.
Yes, there were a few fans who behaved like idiots, but they don't represent the vast majority of Giants. It's very likely Gordon would have been thrown out at the plate.
I was glad you guys beat the Cards in the NLCS last season because I had a feeling we would lose the WS given the experience of both you and the Cards, since I had that feeling at the time I would have rather lost to you guys than the Cards. here's to a future WS between the Royals/Giants.
Well, you had the tying run 90 feet way and the winning run at the plate in Game 7. You guys just couldn't beat Bumgarner. He wouldn't be denied. Theres no shame in losing that way, you guys came back this year and proved all the doubters wrong.
That was literally the most exciting month of my life. As a kc native, royals fan, chiefs fan, and mizzou fan, I've never seen one of my teams win anything since I'm only 29. Attending game 4 of the ALCS is something I'll never forget. People who have seen one or more of their teams win a championship in their lives just simply can't understand how special that was.
+Matthew Payne I had fun watching the games even though i didn't get to go to any :) This year was AMAZING and I can't wait for tuesday so I can cheer on the boys in blue :D
Im a Cleveland Indians fan and I give the biggest respect for the Royals Great competitors every year My Love and Respect Always Royals.. Go Central Division Baseball Forever..
Proto Man Rays fan and very proud of them. 2008 Rays and 2014 Royals are similar, but there are some huge differences. Royals have the better stadium without a doubt. It'd be cool to see the Tigers and Indians if the Rays can't win. Anyone over Red Sox is fine with me.
+Amber Tilton (amyrockstar102) Yep. I was on lunch break during my Saturday Korean class (I live in South Korea) and watched live on MLB.tv. My teacher came in and started laughing at me and then gave me a thumbs up. lol
I haven't met him in person, but we frequently chat online. We live in different parts of the country, so we haven't been able to meet up yet. Perhaps during this offseason....
The only reason I'm even a baseball fan today is that wildcard game against Oakland. I got home from work that night and remember seeing that was the only sports game on so I decided to check it out. I thought baseball was boring until I turned that game on, but I couldn't look away, and I followed the Royals through the playoffs that year. It was amazing to watch them win it all in 2016, couldn't think of a more deserving group of guys. I'm from Canada and now whenever someone asks me why I'm wearing a KC hat instead of a Blue Jays one, I just smile and think back to this run and tell them about the team that made me a baseball fan in the first place. GO ROYALS!
@Samuel Russo hey as a Kansas City native born and raised, I will never forget these two years. It was a really great time during that run and I cant help but smile while watching this video!
Giants fan: I have nothing but respect for the Royals. They had a great postseason run and never game up. The comeback story they had was so sweet it was hard to root agents them. That series literally could have gone to any one in they 9th inning in game 7. The most shocking thing to me was the fans. The royals fans were so great. The came out to every gam loud as hell rooting for there team. They definitely made it a little harder on the Giants. Even when you guys lost you treated the royals as if they won the World Series, and that's what a true fan should do. Over here in California i see nothing but band wagon fans. I've been a giant fan ever sense I stared watching baseball because of my older brother. I watch every single game if I can, and I never change the channel. My room is decked out in Giants stuff. The one true thing that pisses me off when we win is all the band wagon fans. I see people posting on social media that the Giants are the best team when they can't even name the line up from that night. We get so much haters because of that, but I understand. So respect it the royals, yall should be proud of your team no matter what
I knew it would pay off to be a Royals fan.. Just had to give it a while.. A long while. This video gave me so many chills. Absolutely amazing. GO ROYALS!
***** Being realistic does not mean "Does it bother you that the royals aren't gonna do any good in 2015?" Dude.. Learn correct grammar first off. And second, if you wanna be realistic, be optimistic! Not a downer, dude. They do have quite a good chance this year. They have plenty of support and the fans are gonna rally hard this year. I believe they have another chance at this, With Yost still around, I think he will continue to do great things.
I'm not going for an English degree, actually. Thank you. And no.. Sorry. No asshole who makes 783k a year will steal my girlfriend. Sorry to tell you this. She has better things to do than fuck some guy who is a selfish tight-wad piece of shit who makes too much money for his own good. And there is no option to "steal" my girlfriend. She is honestly way out of my league and yet, for 4 years she hasn't left me. So, please.. Continue with those insults. They're funny!
Oh.. and relationships aren't based off of how much money someone has. The ones that are, usually means the other person is using that person to steal their money and will just end up fucking them over in the end. So, how about you fuck off, k?
Some of the most exciting games to ever watch. Still coming back to watch these after 5 years. Thank you royals for making 2014 and 2015 seasons something to never forget.
Had to watch this today after moose broke the franchise home run record and our season and run with these core players seems to be coming to an end. Thanks for the memories moose, hos, locain, esky, salvy, gordo, HDH, and everyone else that made it happen even if today it's bittersweet.
Opening day 2022, still watching this occasionally 7 years later. Time flies, you tend to almost forget about how good the memories were, and then you rewatch this.
This was an extremely well made video about the Kansas City Royals climb to the Worlds Series last fall. Great editing, great music, great video! It brought back a lot of great memories from the 2014 post season in Kansas City. You could just see it in everyone, we finally had something to celebrate. The Kansas City Royals made it happen! I hope we WIN the World Series this year!!! Royals, Royals, Royals, Royals!!!
I became a Royals fan this postseason. Inspiring story, 4 runs down in the 8th to "Moneyball" team and coming back, then sweeping 2 teams with superior records. The Game 7 loss to a great pitcher doesn't diminish what they did.
I've grown up my whole life a royals fan even when they would lose allot of games even if they lost the world series. Think about it in July when we were eight games out of the wild card we didn't give up against the A's we made the biggest comeback in the postseason the. We swept the two best teams in baseball and made it the world series I'm still proud of the royals no matter what they worked their butts off to make it to the post season
Giants took the ring, but my Boys in Blue took the story and the love & respect of the whole nation. World Series Champions would've been nice, but People's Champions is a more than acceptable substitute.
My favorite RU-vid video ever made. Well done. If anyone went to game 7 and you came through the center gate there was a guy with a sign that said: No Tickets Please Chant Thank You Royals. After we lost there was a segment on the news you can find on RU-vid and it was a large group of fans by the home dugout in the Let’s Go Royals cadence, chanting Thank You Roy-als!! The Royals came out and thanks them for that. The guy w the sign was me. I couldn’t afford tickets and was hoping to get in but it was a 7pm game and I was out there at 2pm so if you were one of those fans who stayed it meant the world to me to see that on the news by myself later that night.
Sure a defeat in the 7th game is disappointing, but remember how far the Royals have come. Just three years ago, the Royals were a perennial under .500 ball club. Fans had to watch a sure loss every 5 days when Jonathan Sanchez started, who was acquired for Melky Cabrera who at the time was having an MVP caliber season in SF, before he was busted for PEDS. Then Dayton Moore had the intestinal fortitude to make 'THE TRADE" for Shields and Wade Davis; Yost found the shut down bull pen formula; converted the offense to old school small ball; and KC now has an American League Pennant. INCREDIBLE. I have know complaints with the Royals that I have been rooting for since they came back from being down 3 games to 1 to win the 1985 ALCS.
The World Series win last year was obviously more satisfying as a Royals fan. But the playoff run KC had in 2014 was more exciting in my opinion. The ALDS and ALCS was pure joy to watch as they swept both series.
+Matt Dickey I understand what you mean to some extent, but the way this team came from behind time and time again in the 2015 run for the title was just as exciting.
Coming back to this makes me cry as a royals fan. Our team is just not the same anymore and to just see those players again hosmer, moose, Gordon, Escobar just makes me sad
just because the Royals lost doesn't mean they will stop. The 2015 baseball season for the Royals will be amazing. They will work hard and make it to the playoffs and win it all. I believe in this team because there is no stopping the Kansas City Royals. This town is behind this team hundred percent. What a great season this was. I can't wait for the 2015 baseball season for the Royals. Let's give it up for the boys in blue.
I remember watching every single game at work and after every game people came to my work and bought so much royals stuff. It was such a great time for my city. Hopefully we'll go all the way this year. #IStillBelieve
Who cares what others say about the royals we will demolish any team in the world series. I am proud to be a royals fan. Royals this year have had sell out crowds from the end of July into August. Royals have a lot of fan support and are the best they have been in years.
The 2014 and 2015 teams had me believing in them, rooting for them to win and when they won in 2015, i was like this is something special to behold, and thats why playoff baseball is soooooooo better than regular season baseball and im not a royqls fan now, but man those teams were fun to watch
This is THE best video of the history for the Royals I've ever seen. The music you put into the background, the cave reverb, the silence, and even to the Wild Card clips with the talk host on ESPN... You have captured every single emotion that I felt this season. I'm 20 years old, I'm a male, and I've never experienced a World Series before. I've never been this excited from Baseball and never knew I could feel this way about Baseball. Granted, we lost but we put up a hell of a fight. Even if we lost to a spectacular pitcher in game 7; baseball has been revived in KC. We now have a great team that is strong enough to know that they can take us to the World Series again. Even if things end; there is a new beginning for baseball in KC.
"I've never been this excited from Baseball and never knew I could feel this way about Baseball." "...baseball has been revived in KC." I believe you're exactly right, and this is exactly what's been so frustrating for Royals/KC Baseball fans over the last 5 years. People who have been following the Royals closely for the last five years could see the team getting better. But, the city at large is mostly ignoring the Royals and focusing on the Chiefs. Most would tell you that is because they believe the Chiefs are more competitive. But in reality, the Chiefs have been just as bad, if not worse, than the Royals.Especially over the last five years.
Who would have thought back in 1995, that the Royals would win a pennant and go to the World Series before the Chiefs would even win another playoff game?
I'm a die hard Tigers fan. But I legit think that the Royals won it all that year. Yeah, sure the Giants did but... Just think..... If you were on the royals that year and lost after all that effort. You would be sad. The Royals had the story. The most AMAZING comeback. Never seen one that intense. The Tigers this year need 8 more wins then they are in. The Post season race is on. And most importantly, I hope to see you there, Royals. 💙
man, this is the best baseball video i've seen in so long. you did an amazing job. I'm a Mets fan, so i know what a drought feels like, I was rooting for the Royals all the way. wow, if the royals partied like it's 1985, i hope the mets will do the same like it's 86 next year! amazing video, liked, favorited, this gave me chills. it was like a cinderella story which came down to a bad ending :(, best of luck royals fans, even though it was a loss, never forget this series!
Thank you for making this video! At the end i love seeing everyone's reaction to winning the game. Even if we lost against the Giants we still won. We were the first team to have 9 straight games that we won and also we built up a fan base. Thank you for making this video because it just makes my day and makes me smile. GO ROYALS and also i don't get why people hate on KC! We're a small town that kicks butt deal with it!
+Sungin huh "Built up a fan base" KC already had a "fan base" the only thing we built up was a fan base of fair-weather fans that jumped on the bandwagon.
Everyone talks about the 2015 World Series but I’ll tell you what 2014 was a complete shocker and a true joy to watch. This was a very well done video With a lot of passion put into it. Thank you
Watching in 2021..... still gives me goosebumps watching; even though, we lost game 7 to the SF Giants.. cameback with a vengeance in 2015 and ended as WORLD CHAMPIONS!! Wasn't the last time SF faced a KC team, 2020, CHIEFS beat the 49ers in the SUPER BOWL!!!
Nice vid. Just one thing; "ALCS" stands for American League CHAMPOINSHIP Series, not conference. Other than that, thanks. The Royals were a great team in the 70s and 80s, I'm glad they found the right formula again. It was a season of great defense and pitching along with speed and contact hitting. That is the winning formula if you play half your games at the K. Looking forward to 2015 and another World Series Championship.
Awesome Video! Perfect music as well. Coming from a Giants fan you guys were a hell of a team. Pushed us to the brink with the tying run 90 feet away. These royals reminded me a lot of the 2010 Giants on how they played. Keep your heads up KC you guys got a young talented team who should be a post season regular for seasons to come. I'll definitely be rooting for you guys if you make it back (unless its against the Giants of course). Cheers.
I'm a giants fan too and i felt bad beating these guys but great season by both teams they were evenly matched and that 7 game series proved that. good luck next year KC!
Lazarus Livingston yea the giants were the bad guys in this and the royals were the good guys! I was so happy that my royals made it all the way to game 7 of the world series. We had a great playoff season! Royals 2015!
Justin Humenic Butler was a fan favorite if you enjoyed watching double plays. If he had been Butler 2012 we would have won 5 more games and probably the Series. He wasn't worth 3 years $30 million.
I'm a die hard mets fan since 1999 became a royals fan secondly in 2005 I liked mike Sweeney and the underdog royals as my mets got better for a couple years, and I saw the royals begin to improve in 2013 winning 85 games in that season, then of course the magic of 2014 the mets and the royals are similar, both secondary teams in there respected states, overlooked by the cardinals and Yankees. Both rebuilding both beginning to pay off, royals already have and mets are getting there, NYM and KC Are my teams
That would be an interesting world series to see. But of course i am a royals fan and i would say they would win it but it would be a world series of underrated teams. I'm sick of so many people underestimating teams.
You can relate to me being a mets fan in New York it's all Yankees this Yankees that, mets don't matter it's depressing, I'm so happy the royals are like 10 games up and the mets are in first too! Let's go mets and royals!!!
I feel like such a moron cheering for the Giants during the WS like I did. The Royals had something special. Real special. They didn't just make KC proud, they made the entire country proud. If only they won it all. Oh well, next year.
O's fan here, and may I just say that you guys put up one hell of a fight in the ALCS and proved to be the better team. Sorry you couldn't beat the Giants in the World Series; I was rooting for you all. Hope to see you all again in the ALCS this year, maybe the O's can take one game :-P
Awesome compilation!!! One more game boys. Let's do this!!! IT IS OUR TIME!!!!!! Lets GO ROYALS!!!!!! How fitting Royals....29 YEARS and you can win it all on Oct 29th!!!!! GET IT DONE!
Great Video Dude! Unfortunately, we’ll never see this happen again KC - this was amazing - they won championships at every single level from A-Ball to Double A to Triple A to the Show. Watching them let this core group of guys leave was heartbreaking. I haven’t been able to watch the Royals or any MLB games since so thanks for the great video!
I'm a detroit tigers fan by birth, but this was a great team. I wish they could win it all. Bunch of class acts. And the kids all had heart. This is something teams like the Yankees can't say. Even though I hope my tigers can win the central and the World Series, good luck.
