That's a team that's quit on their coach. As a Jay's fan I've never seen a game like this. It blows my mind Jansen is our #3 catcher in most people's opinions. Not a big analytics but his numbers are outstanding. Jay's have so many pieces they could use to get Soto without gutting the team or farm.

- Every Blue Jays starter had at least 2 hits and 2 runs each. - Despite only scoring 1 run across the last 3 innings, they were one swing of the bat away from breaking the all time MLB record for a game, 2 runs shy of the record with 2 men on base in the 9th. Santiago Espinal did take a "home run cut" to try to make it happen, and was seen snickering after fouling off the pitch. - Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman jumped from 50th in run support, to 6th in a single game. Even winning by 22 runs, he stayed in the game to eat innings and earn credit for the victory, throwing 100+ pitches in the process. - Lourdes Gurriel Jr had the chance to break Frank Catalanotto's team record for hits in a game. Catalanotto went 6 for 6 in his game, Gurriel Jr went 6 for 7. - All 11 runs for the Jays in the 5th inning came only after the first two batters got out. - The Blue Jays actually fired their manager the week before the All Star break, while they were still in a playoff spot with a winning record. They are now 5-1 since the firing, with a run differential of 55-18. They scored 1 more run in this game than in the previous 5 games combined.

A side story for many that will not know this. The Blue Jays first base coach had previously lost his daughter due to an accident, before the all star break. His first game back was this game. It isn't that bad. I did the math and the Blue Jays just scored more than the Tigers have in the last eleven games combined... 😬

The Blue Jays this game: 28 runs. The LA Angels since July 1st: 31 runs. Not sure if that's a testament to the Jays' explosiveness or how pathetic the Angels are.

I still have to come back here once in a while to watch this, this game was just insane... I was watching it on my computer, and I think this was one of the most exciting games of the 2022 season. It was hilarious to see how many mistakes the Red Sox defense made in this game. If this game was at Rogers Centre, the Jays probably would've got almost 40 runs...

I love watching these types of sports ... Where everything goes 100 percent good for one team . When everything goes 100 percent wrong for the other team ... It’s very rare to see these ... No matter what one team does , they can’t lose . No matter what the one team does , they can’t win . A perfect “ jinx “.
