BLUE Seiko Marinemaster Unboxing - SLA023 First Impressions

Sweet, I like that the blue isn’t too “blue”. It looks rather classy.

I’ve had mine for a few days and haven’t been able to take it off my wrist. I recently bought the SBDC079 Ginza so I passed on the SLA019 for this blue version. The color is stunning and easily rivals my IWC Petit Prince blue dial.

Now you just need the sun to come back out to show off the true color of the blue. Way to go, handled one in NYC a couple weeks ago and it is a stunner.

I´ve seen it finally in the flesh and its a beautiful piece!!!!!!!! The light plays so well with the watch. I didnt find it to big. My heart is divided between the MM and the Bretling SO 44mm......

That dial color looks really nice. I actually prefer it over that particular Sumo. I am not a fan of the color combo on that Sumo. Also must say those indices look so thick and raised, very substantial which is a nice touch.

That Blue and deep dial, the lumibrite on the bezel and bracelet look great!

The Seiko Marine Master 300 is one of my favourite watches. It is the Seiko Prospex SLA019, the Marine Master with the green dial, that most tugs on my heart-strings. I actually had that watch in my hands and let it slip away. Though I like this blue dial on the SLA023, I think I'll wait and see what surprises Seiko offers by way of Marine Master in future.

I think the depth of the dial really comes across well in the blue model more than the black!

Amazing Seiko

It came a few days ago, it is a great watch, my one and only to use! I was wrong, my only one to use now is King Turtle Manta Ray Special Edition - Save the Ocean, with the bright blue dial!

I'm pretty sure the indices on the blue Marinemaster are identical to the second-gen SBDX017 that you flipped. I can't see you keeping both. The Sumo punches well above its weight. Have a great Xmas, Bruce.

Liked the Sumo better when you put it side by side. Just more pop with the blue and still hand nice finishing for much less $.

I love that watch man the Seiko Marinmaster i really didn't know about the watch until this really good coverage on this watch. Looks like i already have multiple watches mostly Seiko Orient and citizen Diverse maybe I will just have to save up for the Marinmaster THANK YOU !

It's funny how, when you already own a Sumo, the Marinemasters don't seem to offer as much value. That's not a knock against the Marinemaster, but more a praise for the Sumo.

That is a great looking diver. In my opinion the best looking diver available. The only thing I hate is the cheap looking prospex motif. Should say marinemaster on it for that price. If it did I would buy it. Seiko if you are reading this comment put back the marinemaster where it should be on the dial. Ah feel better now.

That is a beautiful watch. But at 3500,-Usd (Best online price in Denmark) and no Perpetual or even a Annual calender, that is a deal breaker for sure.

Love the watch but I think a slightly off white lume color would have gone so nice with the gilt. Idk super green looking lume isn’t that attractive to me, although at night I’m sure it’s bright!

That’s a gorgeous piece. I sold my SBDX017 and I’m now in full regret. I love the blue, but I have the new blue Omega SMP, so 2 blue may be too much. Tempted by the green.

Wish they didn't get rid of the lume pip at 12 oclock bezel. Think the MM300 is the best Seiko diver in its price range and lower.

Beautiful. I’m after a blue dial :) You wear your watches high on your wrist but the size looks right. Less spec text would be nice. I really don’t like to see anything other than perhaps the make and model on the dial. As the spec is always on the case back anyway. Thanks for the video!

If Seiko puts that dark blue, ceramic, and sapphire on a new 6R35 Sumo, I'm in. Better yet, do that for the Shogun.

I will be sticking with the more affordable cousin, my Blumo. But just wish the metal of the MM300 clasp matches up with the Sumo. It would be a nice touch as an upgraded clasp. Bought it once but the different finish and metal color made it not look so good as my then untouched/unscratched Sumo clasp which matched.

Looks great makes me miss my sla021, I got rid of a Pelagos in favor for the sla, they are just that good.

Bruce can you do a review on the Brian may seiko watch I ordered mine five months ago received mine last week comes on the nato strap. You did mention you had purchase it twice and the 1st was the transitional and the other was the updated one (with smaller indices, bracelet pin downgrade?). Just wanted to ask hope I could ascertain as which version my 017 pertains to. BTW, I love your SBDX001. Would have purchased it if it was offered at the right price. :)

My SLA021 MarineMaster gets more wrist time than my Rolex Submariner ceramic.

Please can you give me your thoughts on the bracelet, Is it far better than that of a Turtle. For example and Oris Aqis has one of the best constructed bracelets I have seen for the money with screws rather than cheap pins and collars.

Bruce thank you so much for the honesty about your ownership of the previous MM300 models, that information was very insightful for me, and I'm sure for many other viewers as well. This may be far fetched but how do you feel the SLA033 compares to this release and the previous MM300 models you owned? Do you feel that you will be keeping the SLA033? Again, thank you!

That new mm is actually looking like a true professional grade watch. It looks a bit more serious than the blue sumo. I’d stick with this mm.
