ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pe5BQf3irTE.htmlsi=YHxNjlS_KNc_LaPv I've recently posted a cover of dickey's part from this version of Blue Sky and here it is
I'm old enough to have seen Duane play three times before he passed..... he's the reason I play guitar today..... great job....nice to see people still keeping his shoes shined by still playing his solos all these years later....he was special for sure....so was everyone in that band....none like them since....sure miss them ...
I justt thumbed up EVERY comment because THIS is everything ive needed to see since i first found this version. God bless you, friend. Skydog is the most soulful EVER. I want to keep commenting, but ill bet you know EXACTLY who you are. And i do, too. Thank you. Ill comment again in 2 minutes, i promise.
Hahah thanks alot man, really appreciate it. I could say that i was hit the same way when i first heard this version of blue sky and the solos. Truly blissful
Awesome. Duane's solo in the SUNY Stonybrook live version of Blue Sky is one of the greatest solos of all time in my opinion. Not only is significantly loner than the solo on the studio version, but it's composed like a great classical piece of music. You nailed it and gave it the respect it is due.
DUANE WAS SO SPECIAL. WHAT A GREAT PLAYING GUITARIST.HE HAD THE TOUCH.DICKY ALSO ,GREG,s VOCALS,BERRY ON BASS,JJ,BUTCH ONDRUMS ,ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN HISTORY!!!!🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶✌️😎BOB
Thank you lots. To have the music in your mind so in sync with your finger tips is what every aspiring musician is eternally striving for. When playing a fret board becomes so second nature, it's almost like whistling. Love Duane. Such great music in those few short years. 67 to 74 + -.
Thank you for your compliments. It truly is amazing how much Duane accomplished in such a short time and how he could've made a much bigger mark in the industry had he lived longer.
Awesome Syd🎸《☆》I'm gonna check out your Dickeys solo cover now. I prefer Duanes studio solo but Nice work here. I saw Derek Trucks doing Duanes solo with a slide & it was pretty effing good✌️😎☯️
I hope you think im crazy.... i am. however, you are worth watching til i die. This is my favorite piece of music EVER. IF you want to know #2.... then listen to Lie in Our Graves by Dave Mathews Band from Saratoga Performing Arts Center in NY. SPAC 1999. I WAS there and Boyd Tinsleys violin solo is nealry as amazing. i swear on everything you will enjoy it.... more "classical" as opposed to soul/blues, but just as beautiful. TELL ME IM WRONG...
She lives up here in Ontario Canada and was a civil servant with the Canadian Government after doing an undergrad at University of Toronto in Political Science. Also not sure you know this, but Jessica, the inspiration for the song, was their daughter.
Duane improv'd this. Duane wasn't a talented musician who can ad hoc come with a tour de force tone, effect, reverb, emotion/mood, timing, message/theme, and just thought up melodies many many steps ahead and played it flawlessly, because of course, that's impossible. Instead he clearly had access to a platonic realm of already formed melodies, that he simply picked out.
