This deck profile has a few issues in my opinion. After tons of games playing Aqua Force and a 6-2 at BCS in Seacacus where I finished in 19th (missed out on top 8 via tiebreakers), I've found the optimal lineup to be 4 Maelstrom, 3 Diamantes, and 3 Riptide. Maelstrom is a much better card than you give him credit for. The 3k to the front row matters a lot as it means that cards can hit force clans. For example, Tidal Assault and Algos become 12k attackers, meaning they can hit force grade 2's allowing you field control to control the game (helped in my D police matchups), Lazarus becomes 15k which boosted becomes 23k, which covers for a defensive trigger against force clans. Diamantes is also a 25k on the accel circle, which means he hits for 22k when his skill is used, which is magic numbers against Protect and Accel clans. Your grade 3 rearguards become 15k which is 23k boosted which guess what that does? Covers for a defensive trigger against even force clans. Navelgazer is a good card but honestly after testing a pure Navelgazer build my win rate went down a ton as I could not get my rearguards above the 23k threshold and while objectively Navelgazer gets one more attack than Maelstrom, a defensive trigger often means 4 attacks are rendered not able to hit, even on an Accel circle agaisnt Force which would have with Maelstrom's 3k buff to the front row. The restand also acts like a pseudo-Valeos in the sense that opponents are so afraid of allowing those attacks to hit that those are two defensive triggers you don't have to worry about as they will guard them (which is also taking cards from their hand). Riptide also needs to be ran because he's the only reason we actually might even be kind of good. Without him, Aqua Force just doesn't hit the numbers needed to apply pressure early and he's really good with Maelstrom as they either take or have to drop at least 25k guard. Viviana is also just a meh card. I find Influent Dagger better as he helps your columns make better numbers and can even act as an attacker on his own which is useful considering Aqua Force literally has no way to plus. Here it is Grade 3: 4x Maelstrom 3x Diamantes 3x Riptide Grade 2: 4x Algos 4x Tidal Assault 3x Lazarus Grade 1: 4x Penguin 4x Theo 4x Influent Dagger Grade 0: 1x Officer Cadet Erik 8x Crits 4x Draw PG 4x Heal I choose Crits over Fronts for a Maelstrom focused build because usually people are so focused on calculating guard for the third and fourth attacks that they usually take the vanguard putting them in the awkward position of potentially having to take crits. It can also be hilarious to put a crit on a Diamantes or Tidal Assault for added pressure. Dagger is the MVP of the grade 1 lineup because he's so versatile. When going for the Algos Tidal rush, he becomes a 13k booster which covers for a defensive trigger while late game you can plop him in the front row as an attacker because of how big he can get
I run 4 naval, 3 riptide and 3 maelstrom because naval can actually let riptide swing twice. I used maelstrom for early pressure just to take away some cards from the opponent when they guard it. Just saying tho
I think what makes maelstrom so good is the pressure it puts on your opponent. It’s exactly what the deck needs, your first attacks can get rid of intercepts or rear guards and then your 3rd and 4th attacks can be huge numbers.
I got a guy mentoring me in Vanguard. He’s an Aqua Force user. He told me to never combine Navalgazer and Maelstrom because both of them can make different combos. That’s why sometimes he run a Navalgazer build and a seperate Maelstrom build
Pushing to high damage first before riding into something else is the ideal way to use Maelstrom. The odd thing is they didn't release another big G3 to go after Maelstrom besides Navalgazer.
Wow that is a very nice build for Maelstrom Deck Profile and you only have three Accel or Excel gift marker how about you make 4 or 6 of them is that ok your a Aqua Gang
It's almost kindoff refreshing to have a somewhat pessimistic deck profile. Good job, keep it up. P.S There's some glare on some of the cards, if possible then it would be good if you could fix that.
Are costs optional for AUTO’s? The way I understood it was that you couldn’t choose if you wanted the choice of activating the skill or not, but that you could actually decide if you wanted to pay the cost/activating the skill.
I'm really scared of building an accel clan (i wanted pale moon from months!) because everytime I see a review of something or a deck profile; unless the deck is tachi, it always gets "this deck is bad" and so on. (ノ﹏ヽ)
Yeah i am going to take the gable on pale moon, i think pale moon actually has a lot of tools and variety to it, the main reason accel clans are in this weird place is because none of them really have a good way to leverage card advantage, and the trigger line-ups can be kind of wonky depending on the deck you are playing, but if you love a clan enough you can still see success on a local/regional level and depending on the skill ceiling of the deck and your mastery of it, you may be able to make a teir 2-3 deck a viable choice for you as a player, and may just play it better then a teir one deck. #teir2royalpaladinsthedream
