As funny and crazy as this movie is, one thing I can think of that would not happen is LAPD being allowed to handle a sting operation in San Diego County due to being outside their own jurisdiction. The FBI would be allowed, but not the LAPD.
If the heroin was confiscated and those in possession were arrested and interrogated within the territorial jurisdiction of the LAPD, then I think that the LAPD would have subject matter jurisdiction to conduct a sting operation outside of its geographic limits.
@@mistercool3859 it's possible, but I would think because the FBI were already looking for the drugs, and they interfered when told to stand down, it would be the FBI to handle the matter at hand. Granted, yes Hollywood does do things differently, but I can see your point as well. If it was confiscated by just the LAPD and the FBI weren't involved earlier, then maybe they would coordinate with the FBI on a later time frame. As much as I love this movie, there are a few things that just seem like the police would be out of line, again Hollywood for ya, but it still makes for a great movie.
@@narnian19 Yeah, who knows what the LAPD can get away with. You raised a good point. I was just trying to explain how the operation could be legal. Either way, great movie and underrated, too.
@@mistercool3859 highly underrated. I remember when I first saw this movie, I was laughing hysterically and I still laugh to this day every time I watch it. I now need to find a law enforcement officer and ask about that. I am curious enough to wonder, so who knows.
@@narnian19 Yep, a very fun film, and the cast really gels together. Martin Lawrence and Luke Wilson had great chemistry. It was cool seeing William Forsythe as a tough guy on the side of good. Dave Chappelle is very funny (no surprise), and so is Graham Beckel as the captain. My favorite part is near the end when the FBI guy praises Logan for a job well done. Peter Greene was the perfect villain, and I liked the twist of making the petty thief the main bad guy and the big drug lord a minor villain. I also liked how this film didn't feel the need for Martin to get the girl. From beginning to end, the aim was the diamond. This movie never gets old. And when you get an answer from an LEO, let us know!

He's the protagonist. you can't have him kill anyone (even the villain) in cold blood. At the end, Deacon pulls a gun on him so he shoots backward in self defence.
I like detective movies but I like detective movies that the mafia wins I don't like that the police wins it's ridiculous to cheer for the police I hope for
