From playing multiple teams with their own backs against the wall in recent weeks... we now find ourself in their position. Can we respond?
We review the INs and OUTs, what it means for our structure, and analyze key match ups ahead of our Round 22 clash with the rampaging young Hawks.

After watching the dismal efforts over the last few weeks (not helped though injuries I'll admit) and the disgrace served up against the Hawks, then watching AAA, I wonder if this might be the problem with the soft tissue issue (excuse the pun). Sprinting and sprint training. after the game against Hawks I remember seeing or reading something about sprint training at Hawthorn and I recall in all the footage of CFC training I've never seen any sprinting. Long distance running - or in Carlton's case... slow jogs. This could be it. Not conditioned for sprinting when our players do (attempt) it their hammy's go boyng! I watched Lloydy on AAA show how Hawks would sprint the length of the ground while their immediate Carlton opponent would "jog" qfter them; 20 -30 yards behind (I'm in the US & this backward society is still stuck with imperial measurements!) need a sprint coach and slimmer builds in the center.

I don't think we can have Owies & Motlop in the same side. One or the other... and with Williams back I'm not really sure we need either of them. 5 or 6 possessions per game is not good enough.

I also thought we may have been overloaded in that area, and Williams may have gone back. Strange indeed.

My question to Russell is, if he is the best, why are we consistently in the top two for soft tissue injuries every year he's been at the club?

Everyone has soft tissue injuries, Russell is not responsible.

Workload definitely needs to be put under the microscope, as it can obviously put too much strain on the body over a sustained period if the player are indeed being overworked, as has been suggested. But surely each player has an individual program as per their bodies requirements and injury histories factored in. Who knows!
