Short to the point review, no unnecessary bla bla bla. Good job

Nice. I’ve 2 bluesound speakers in various parts of the house, and my hifi is a NAD M10 with niche high end New Zealand speakers. I’m looking to upgrade the old soundbar and the old tv, and I’m pleased that Bluesound again will not disappoint. I’ll also bet getting the bluesound subwoofer he he he!

Thanks for the video, it was the deciding factor for me to go with this soundbar. I had a Definitive Mythos XTR-SSa5 and Polk PSW108 sub hooked up to a receiver for about 10 years. Receiver died and I wanted to go with a soundbar set up. I looked at several, Bose, Polk, Sonos, Sennheiser, Nakamichi. I always liked the overall sound (tone) of the Sonos, but without the sub it's really lacking, and having to pretty much double the cost when adding their sub was always the reason I didn't get one. Being able to hook up any powered sub to the Bluesound is a huge plus. I installed mine this weekend, hooked it up to a Yamaha 10" sub, everything was plug & play, HDMI eARC to the soundbar, sub-out to the sub, connect to my wireless, update the firmware, and boom, it's up and running. A few little tweaks in the app, and it sounds as good, if not better, than my old set up...

It really does sound fantastic if you ask me. The sub out is why I would take this over any other soundbar in this price point. I am glad you liked the soundbar!

@@MediaHead. I'm trying to figure out/find out, if I could get one Pulse Flex 2i as a rear, or if you have to do this in pairs? My space is not conducive for a true surround, but a single rear, if that works, might be something to consider.
@MediaHead.
@MediaHead. 8 месяцев назад
It needs to be done in pairs unfortunately, you may want to consider investing more heavily in the front stage(soundbar or upgrading to bookshelves/in-wall and a subwoofer). I do not have a living space conducive to surround so I just invested in an upgraded front stage. Great stereo speakers setup correctly can get really close to the staging in entry or mid level surround systems for a similar cost.

Excellent review. This bar perfectly fits my needs. First, it has a sub out. I'll be connecting, wirelessly, to my SVS SB-3000. It has a good amount of connectivity so I'll be able to integrate it into my tricky system. It's higher than average so the drivers are large which will produce a much better midrange. It looks great. The Bluesound is owned by a large audiophile company so it has good resources and lineage. Can't wait! Thanks for the great review. Subscribed.

Good review! I'm considering waiting for the NEW Sonos soundbar to be released this year along with their best wireless set up or just buy the best Bluesound wireless set up now. Mostly listen to movies and I like user friendly stuff. I'm not really price point driven but I want wireless rears. Any suggestions?

A few things to consider. If you already have sonos then go with sonos, however, sonos doesnt play well with others. If audio quality is what you are going for I'd suggest bluesound. Both brands can do wireless or wired rears. The main difference between the two is the subwoofer output on the Bluesound Pulse. It allows you to buy any subwoofer you want, which is why it would be my choice any day of the week. Both apps are very easy to use, I'd trust my mom to use either.

Interesting video. Have you compared Sonos Arc and Sub Gen 3 to Bluesound Pulse Soundbar+ with Sub+? If so, how do you think each pair stacks up for overall sound quality?
@MediaHead.
@MediaHead. 11 месяцев назад
That is a GREAT question. And a little harder to answer as adding those respective subs in closes that gap between the two soundbars. I think that the bluesound sub+ is very similar to the sonos sub gen 3 and would be hard pressed to choose between the two. However, that is ignoring the main advantage of going with the Pulse Soundbar over the ARC. As the Pulse Soundbar has a subwoofer output. So you could spend less and end up with a better subwoofer. Like a Rel HT/1003 MkII or another 10" or 12" subwoofer in the same price range. I tested the Pulse Soundbar+ with a Rel HT/1003 and was blown away. The room I tested in was about 17 ft by 12 ft. In larger rooms I'd suggest going with a 12" sub or larger. As mentioned in the video, I do like the sound signature of the Pulse Soundbar+ more as I thought it was a little more neutral and balanced but that is a personal preference. Without a subwoofer it seriously outperforms the arc, adding subs in, the gap closes a bit but that's why I mention the subwoofer out, as a 10", 12" or 15" subwoofer would destroy the sonos or the bluesound sub. So, to conclude, I think that if you stick within the brands(ARC & Subg3 or Pulse Soundbar & Sub+) performance is very similar. But the Pulse Soundbar+ bundled with a larger subwoofer would outperform the Sonos arc and Sub G3. How much would depend on the subwoofer you pair with it.

@@MediaHead. Thanks. I have the Arc now but would not say I’m in love with its sound. It sounded better in the retail environment running its demos than in my family room. I have four BS units now so thinking I’ll just stay within the BS ecosystem. As this is just a family room system, I won’t be putting in a larger subwoofer, so will be settling for the wireless option in a smaller unit. My main HT configuration is completely separate.

Installed mine over the weekend, great sound, but hooking it up to my Yamaha sub it takes it to a whole new level. One of the reasons I bought it was the ability to connect it to any powered sub, not being locked into a vendor. A good $300 sub vs a mediocre $700 sub.

@@MediaHead.Mediahead…will the Bluesound Pulse soundbar communicate with Sonos wireless speakers? I purchased the Sonos immersive surround sound system but the Arc’s too low in sound with dialogue. I need to replace this Arc…but I like the rest of the system. Thank you
@MediaHead.
@MediaHead. 8 месяцев назад
Bluesound does not communicate with sonos and vice versa. It might be best for you to re-evaluate your entire system. If you like the other sonos speakers, you could try a sonos amp with a pair of bookshelves or in wall speakers, you can use that as fronts with sonos rears. Keep in mind that an "immersive surround system" based around a soundbar will ALWAYS have limitations. Soundbars are NOT a replacement for surround sound systems, they are budget minded alternatives that have sacrifices.

In the end what I understood is that I don’t like physical characteristics and appearance of Pulse. 1. It’s too high, it means that TV needs to be placed higher than usual. 2. It’s not that wide. Looks awkward under 75” TV. Small. Also I don’t like the center of the speaker, that stripe is too glossy and it has too many active lights.

Aesthetics are important, so it is understandable for you to choose something that fits your aesthetic. It is a high soundbar. That is one of the reasons it has better low frequency response as it is able to have larger drivers.

Also Devialet Dion has low frequencies.
@MediaHead.
@MediaHead. 8 месяцев назад
I haven't heard the Dione. I am sure it has low frequencies as its much larger than either Sonos or Bluesound. It is also over twice the price of the Sonos Arc or Bluesound Pulse. Pairing a subwoofer with the bluesound would likely offer far better low frequencies than the Dione at a lower price. So its all about what you want. If you want an all in one solution, go for the Dione.
@vqa33
@vqa33 7 месяцев назад
@@MediaHead.in the end Dione is not a product for me. I’ve spent time reviewing the reviews and come to conclusion that I have to choose between this Pulse+ or Sony A5000/7000. Dion is very overpriced for what it is. Also Devialet customer support is awful.

@@vqa33 have you checked out REL? They have some very attractive subs and the sound is fantastic. Or you could try a Sonos Sub Mini so it doesn’t take up as much space.
