Hi Elle, so I watched this video last night. This morning when I put my makeup on, I tried this draping technique with my favorite cream blush. (Westman Atelier) I put the blush much closer to my nose than usual and higher up. As I was walking out the door my husband commented, “Wow, you look great today, so young and alive”. He never comments. I am 60...so saying the “y” word was music to my ears. Thanks..will continue to use this technique.
I've done this my entire makeup wearing life, but not because of a makeup look. I instinctively thought it could help disguise my under eye bags. I apply the blush high up enough to meet the shadow of my little puffy under eye bags. They're genetic I was born with them. The blush there really distracts the eye from noticing the bag since the blush is helping to hide where the bag ends and the top of my cheek begins.
Love it so much, I remember the days before we bronzed, highlighted and contoured. It’s so fresh looking, not sure I can go back to using the other products after seeing this.
Use Irish Spring soap to clean Beaty blender, works every time. I hold the soap and blender under cold running water and rub the blender on the soap and start rinsing and it always comes clean.
Great video, Elle! I have been trying this a lot lately. I'm so pale that I can never really find a bronzer that doesn't make me orange, plus I love blush, so the idea of sculpting with blush instead is a win-win for me. I appreciate your detailed explanation on the where and the why of the exact placement. I can see I've been on the right track, but I've been missing a few key points with my placement. I can't wait to do my makeup today and try this out! ❤️❤️❤️
Love how this looks. I generally do this with bronzer, but i do apply too much, and the contrast is so high i end up having to put bronzer all over the face
Elle, when you have time, I hope you will revisit this draping application as I love it and have been looking for this exact look. I would love to see you apply your eye makeup as well as draping. I checked out your makeup base and wonder if that beautiful cream type would settle in lines on older women. Great job, thanks.
So gorgeous. Like you said Elle, this technique has been around for very long time. That’s exactly what I do with a blush all the time and it looks very youthful and decrease the visible strikes of contour, blush and highlighter to a more seamless technique. Great video 💕💕

I love doing this in summer! Especially since I always use sunscreen, I like to look like I have some Colorado sun in summer, so I opt for a browner or red under-toned bronzer and more watermelon toned blush (normally go for pinks in winter). I LOVE this! Thank you for the reminder.
Hi Elle!! You have no idea how good this makes me feel!!! I recently went through a bunch of older pics and I was caught off guard by my application of blush. I always applied it in kinda a Nike swoosh pattern. Never wore bronzer. Now you can bet I’ll be giving this a try again.
I’d never heard of draping but after seeing you demonstrate how to apply your blush I’m definitely going to try it next time I wear makeup, I love blush and will sweep it across the bridge of my nose and a little on my forehead but it was just a natural thing that I would do, really didn’t know it was a #thing, I grew up in the 60’s/70’s, Now I’m just Old Lol 😂. Hey Professor! I LOVE this video, as I loved the last one you did on draping *before* it went koo-koo on Tik-Tok (keep in mind, I do not have a Tik-Tok account). I love doing this on my now almost 58 year old face. It lifts and does all the wonderful things you say, as long as it is done as you do it. I have never, nor will I ever, put blush directly under my eyes. I can't imagine a benefit to it, and its a waste of blush....lol. I hope you, Derek and Grey are all doing well. *Hugs*
Lol about to be 23 soon and my mom has done something like this for a while , so im surprised when ppl discover things from back then that my mom has done for years haha💜
I've been doing this, sort of, but you really explained a lot of theory about placement. And you explained about using multiple blush colors and multiple blush textures. Awesome additional knowledge that will bring noticeably better results in my looks. Thank you, Elle!
Hi Elle ❤ , I don't know how I missed this video! This is almost exactly how I have done my blush from the beginning! Who knew I was a trendsetter! 😂 Really, when I started wearing blush, there was no bronzer & contouring was soo complicated. I did start with cream blush , powder and finished with powder blush. I did use a bit more though , I was always aware of my light skin. Thank you ,Elle for explaining all of the technique & teaching me to use a lighter touch. XOXO
Thank you for explaining each detail. But for me ,I have a round face and have been told to refrain from applying bushes on the apples of my cheeks, because it widens it

Wow, your face looks so tight. It's obvious you've had a face lift. Does not look to good either. Makeup youtubers are just going to far for the sake of making videos.
