In this video we watch Bly, the Ukrainian Zerg, take on Clem, the French Terran prodigy, in a best-of-5 series of StarCraft 2. This match was played as part of the Team Liquid Map Contenst (TLMC). Bly is known for his unpredictable and aggressive playstyle, while Clem is one of the best Terran players in the world. Who will come out on top in this clash of styles?

Hey Lowko. Greetings from Ukraine. Been watching you for a while. I'm not the biggest SC2 player but I love your casts. I used to watch them every time during lunch break. Unfortunantly, because of obvious reasons, for almost 2 years now I've been watching news and military reports on my lunch break. But a couple of days ago I have finally decided to cut on that content quite a bit. I was your channel still going strong and with great content to boot. Thanks for your great work and for ability to reminice about simpler days

Here is an idea for the Healing Shrines: Both players having vision on and around the Healing Shrines. So when you go to heal, as a tradeoff, the enemy can exactly see where your units are.

Tbh, I really like those 12pools if not for the graphic glitch. Terran and protoss usually have more practice in building walls, so putting creep there to keep the pools save is a neat touch.. Next time I'd connect it to the theme of the map tho, tbh

Honestly, the bleeding spawning pools are weird, but the time out mechanic is a great idea! Maybe next contest they could have a feature implemented specific for this, such as burning buildings/cities (with assets from the campaign), which burn down at a specified time.

The creep preventing them from bleeding out makes me wonder if Zerg might be able to creep down there fast enough to prevent the pools from dying, and letting you keep the wall-off.

@@user-nh2bf4to7g They're neutral so probably not, it's probably disabled via a flag in the map editor. But they'll probably use some other texture ultimately to not confuse it. I can't imagine something that cheap staying. I'm surprised such a placeholder idea made it into the playable map pack honestly.

Ok, you can burrow a unit in that space-hole. The question is : since the ground is technically transparent, can the opponent see the unit even if it is burrowed, without detection?

I have the best map idea for a map! The beginning bases are in the middle separated by dead space but also visible with vision towers in bothe the mainstream. The natural is left and right of the main and expands go triangular backwards and to extra expands to the left and right

this is the greatest use of nydus worm i've ever seen, truly a strategy game moment. also, i expected the nydus to be used defensively for the gold at the very least, kinda sad we didnt get what is essentially a nydus canal from sc1

Don't know if it's too Avantgarde for making it in the pool but this Silverlane map has an incredible dark and melancholic feel to it.

I'm not big on the pools as is, but maybe they should inspire a new map concept. Unstable rocks which collapse on their own could have a use. I guess it could make for maps with active late games but also be a barrier against rushes?

These kinds of things like bridges that can be activated or deactivated by another unit or healing circles etc. are very cool and make for great gameplay moments, but from a numbers perspective they are risk variables that are bset avoided when you play 100+ games a day, so the pros sadly will probably mostly avoid them. I wish there was at least one mandatory category for 'quirky map mechanic' in the map pool so we could have at least one map every pool with stuff like this.

i know it would be difficult, but i would love a well designed a-symetric map for specific pairs. like a ZvP map where zerg gets an extra base, but more spread out bases (and maybe creep free zones?). I know it would be hard to balance, especially because if you balance it for pro it would never work in the lower leagues.

Give it a try. It's really not as bad as you might think. I joined rather late and I was sure that I'll just get stomped but nah, no problems to find players that aren't some Korean demi-gods ;) You'll be surprised how much fun it can be even when playing.

personally i just find it frustrating because I want these weird strategies to work SO BADLY.... but inevitably his weirdness just falls flat 90% of the time and I find myself hoping so much it will work out somehow but it never does

there is a rare condition in which the processing of light happens quicker than normal by quite a bit. that makes 60Hz too slow for moving pictures and ends up being a bunch of flashing lights. this has to do with the refresh rate of the sodium ions in our nervous system. these people have much quicker turn over of the sodium ions and allows them to have eyes that see at a faster rate. this sort of thing exists for other nerve tissues as well and gives people different inherent reaction times. this makes esports just like basketball in which there are physical characteristics that give a big edge in the game. this means that some people might not have to practice or hone their skills nearly as much as others, or even the average player.

First game: with almost same army, idk if roaches could catch up the medivacs having almost the same army size. We saw it a lot of times, people moving them trough the terrain and chipping damage back and forth till enough damage is done .

I don´t play SC2 but from the point of view of someone who enjoy watching, I think these news maps are interesting. I enjoy these different traits and details of the maps that might change at least a bit the dynamic of the game. Breath of fresh air. I believe we are yet to see their full potential -at least of some of them- since some of the games ended fast.

I would love to see a unit rotation implemented. Maybe as a separate mode as build orders have been mostly perfect by now and big change would probably annoy a lot of players. But on the other hand it would feel a little refreshing. Like I think it’d be fun to see units from the campaigns brought in and balanced for a ladder setting. Diamond backs could have a fun play-style, creeperhosts could prove a great defence and corsairs could add a great counter to medivac drops. Could be fun. Although a lot of those campaign units would need a hell of a lot of nerfing. Vanguard’s are just op.

Giving the Map makers some freedom is rly cool. I think since the support from blizzard decreases, creative maps are an effective way of keeping the game entertaining.

qquestion for me isn't 'can they burrow' since if a main building can be build on it, they can burrow right, question is, can the enemy see the burrowed unit at that tile?

I feel like the healing shrines will vastly benefit Protoss. Not in an unbalanced way, just that it enables Protoss to heal base health. Most Zerg units heal rather quickly or can be transfused. Terran units are either biological and can be heal by medivacs or are mechanical and can be repaired by SCVs. Protoss however, only has shield regeneration.

Hey lowko, i know you'd probably never review this comment but im just gonna mention it anyways. There is a game that i believe Starcraft has taken a lot of inspiration which is of course: Aliens vs. Predator franchise. in 2010 2 of the biggest unique games have been released: Starcraft 2 2010 and Aliens. vs Predator 2010. AvP is literally starcraft in fps. The game is dying, there are a group of people who wants to revive the game and revive a unknown esport type of online competition that not much has been seen around. One group is: AvP Unknown and a group of clans called: LHZ Lost Hunterz, Apex Eternals, and DBH Clan. If we had content creators like you around, oh man. The level of interests and competition would grow in such big amount of times.

As a veteran of the first starcraft, I really wish I had a reliable internet connection so I could compete against the best. Unfortunately I lag like crazy when playing SC2. Yet when I played the original I never had a problem. Frustrating as hell that I'm stuck playing against the ridiculously easy a.i. I hope blizzard makes internet play more viable for future RTS games without having the very best internet. Kinda makes me wonder how the "pros" would hold up against people who are held back by crap internet connections

Silverflame is heavily Zerg favored, simply because of that wall of Spawning Pools. Drop a creep tumor close enough and BOOM! Defending the natural is two thirds easier, making it a HORRENDOUSLY unfair map for the other races to play on. It's a ZvZ wet dream is what it really is. If the wall was comprised of true neutral buildings that have to be killed in order to open the way, then it'd be a little more balanced for everyone, rather than giving a stupidly huge advantage for the Zerg in holding pushes or any kind of early game all-ins.

surely anyone who thinks the healing pads are a good addition is a protoss main. Zerg units are expendable, and terran can heal/repair everything...oh and of course the worst thing for protoss is one of your 6-10 units to take hull damage

Seeing a hole open to space, and lowko thinks about burrowing units into it. Sometimes you ahoupd really keep the intrusive thoughts inside. That said u would love to see units that walk or burrow on that square get spaced
