As long as 1. you do what youre supposed to do 2. Dont do dumb things 3. Can do atleast 35 pushups 35 situps, run atleast 13 min in 1 1/2 mile. 4. Not afraid to get shout by mtis = this would be easy asf
It’s crazy how BMT seems like the hardest thing you’ve ever done when you’re going through it but once you’re operational it seems like cake. I’d do it again
You are all speaking truth. Its too soft. I dislike it when its time for ALS, organized PT, shop open ranks, OTS, etc.. and there's always the one saying "uhh its like basic all over again".. What, you graduated right? Then no need complain, it shouldn't be a problem ya.
I went in in 2003 as a 2E2X1... I stuck with it an got the civilian equivalent certifications and now have a very comfortable 6 figure income. The Air Force was the best decision I ever made.... Godspeed to anyone on their way. Attitude is everything.
Thank you so much for this series! I went through BMT December 2015-February 2016, so I was there before these changes were enacted. I was so grateful I got to go during that time of the year to avoid the Texas summer heat. As much as BMT sucks when you are going through it, I would love to go through it again. For one, I was in much better shape then than I am now, and I am working to get back in BMT shape again. Looking forward to part 2 of this video.
Honestly everybody will experience this differently I just got out of bmt and watched tons of videos before but nothing can prepare you for the real thing
Bro BMT is easy as hell dont stress over it I got out in March and I thought it was gonna be hard af before I left but it was dumb easy just chill out and do what they say
@Kee Tv well if you cant do push ups then that means you dont try to. If you dont try, your weak ass needs not enlist into my air force. Bad enough we have a bunch of millennials, we dont pussy pussy ass bitch's that cant push
Good luck man I graduated a week and a half ago. It isn't really that bad. 0 and 1st week aren't fun, but classes start to pick up and it goes by fast.
Congrats to all the new airman and ones that are shipping out. My husband graduated in March and his flight got the commanders flag , proudest moment they had.
A month ago I just woke up and wanted to join the Air Force, and I ship out April 23rd as a Airborne linguist! Got to say I kinda got impulsively lucky can’t wait for BMT though and to experience it firsthand, then it’ll really be real. 😬👌🏾
Grad Date 29 Mar 2019 here. The first phone call is to give your mailing address as well as to check in. Anyone reading this who's heading to BMT: It's designed to be horrible through the 1WOT. It's manufactured stress. You'll get through it.
thanks for this video and the rest of your videos. My son is there right now on his week 2. Watching your videos helps me a lot, at least I can visualize what my son is going through week by week.thanks for all that you do..
Irma Cabusao I recommend you to join a facebook support group like AF wing moms, I did and It was so helpful while my doughter was at BMT. Watching videos also helped me so much!
Was one of the first flights that did this new BMT schedule. Left on 25 of September. OCPs are being issued 2020 fiscal year is what I was told by my MTI
Shipped out January 8th of 2019 currently in tech school, if anyone gets the 320th trading squadron ask your MTI if they know of FLT 209 they’ll know. Btw go to church on sundays it’s pretty lit
Hey I enjoyed the video! It helped a lot! I have a question though, would you recommend for me to have my wisdom teeth removed before I go to basic? Or does it not matter if I still have my wisdom teeth?
I don't think it really matters but it would probably be better to get them out from a local dentist as a civilian then have them removed while in the air force as recovery time for wisdom teeth can take around a week.
Altkix, it doesn't matter, if they aren't giving you trouble right now you'll be fine. I didn't get my wisdom teeth taken out until I was in for 6 or 7 years.
@@Nicebitoftucka oh it was stressful af but I've wanted to do this for so long that I was excited and it was fun because of the people I was there with.
Just want to make a slight correction: Airman’s Time ISN’T what Airman’s Week was. Airman’s Time is when you sit in the dayroom and get to talk to your MTI about whatever, it’s usually at the end of the day and we get protein bars at dinner chow which we eat at Airman’s Time. Usually people would ask the MTI questions about the Air Force or what’s coming up in the next week or any problems going on in the flight. It’s also a time where the flight gets to talk and discuss things with each-other. Now all the “What Now Airman” stuff IS what Airman’s Week was.
I was wondering if it is hard to get a job as a pilot or some sort and how long it would take and what kind of missions and stuff would you be going on?
I have no input on becoming a pilot or anything. You have to be an officer to become a pilot which means going to the academy or getting commissioned another way. I know that it is a long process though.
really I too ship out on the 23 of this month. im nervous as can be ahah, who knows maybe we might run into each other while were all there. that be something.
How long do you stay in the training like how long generally is bmt and graduation.. ( basically how long do you stay at basic training) until it’s time for you to ship back out home
Bmt is basically 2 months long, technically its 8.5 weeks if you graduate on time. Also you don’t go home after bmt you go straight to tech school and after tech school you can go home before you go to your first base. Tech school length just depends on the job.
Good luck try your best! Hardest part is mental on the way and the first night at bmt I feel. All mental though. Oh don't get mixed up with the dudes who don't want to be there just makes it harder.
I need to ask you some things. I'm one year off my anxiety meds and I'm overweight. I have asthma too but I'm working on losing weight to improve my fitness. I'm 30 years old. If I try to enlist next year or two, am I too old? I'm a female. Will they still take me even if I have Asthma? I don't have attacks anymore, I haven't had one since I was like 12. I really want to enlist, is all this held against me?
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure Asthma is disqualifying, I would talk to a recruiter and see what they say. You are definitely not to old though, don't be discouraged by that or anything holding you back. If it doesn't work out theres something else for you out there! Good luck!
Do Airman in BMT or the Tech School do ruck marches? A ruck march being a foot march done with a large backpack full of military gear between 2 and 10 miles?
No we don't do that, most jobs in the air force are more technical so it wouldn't make sense to train us like that. Some battlefield airmen do stuff like that in there tech training though. Just depends on the job.
They do the dental cleaning and stuff at your permanent duty station, at bmt they just like inspected my mouth. Im sure if you have a long tech school you'll do it there. Dental is a yearly thing.
I googled "air force bmt" www.google.com/search?q=air+force+bmt&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS813US813&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjK_tHEjcnhAhUOlKwKHZdQBh4Q_AUIECgD&biw=1920&bih=947#imgdii=KaiwQtZ2nzHRrM:&imgrc=QBqUvxRS7rovTM:
I had fun, it was stressful and I learned a lot but as I got better it got better. Future shippers, dont worry, it will be a great feeling of achievement when its over. Oh pack light when shipping.. When you ship to tech and your lugging your gear you will thank me not having that extra huge civie suitcase.
hey Jonathan I watched your video on BMT for 2019 but I do have some questions I like to ask because I leave in a week, I was wondering if you happen to have a different way I may contact you and ask my questions other then posting all my questions in your commit box.
I cant say for sure because I dont remember. I think we did some paper work with my recruiter about that before I left so ask him/her. Sorry I dont have a more specific answer!
Matthew Denman I wouldn’t recommend doing it as fast as possible but to focus on getting into a career that you’ll enjoy. In my case it took me 3 months after I finished MEPs to get a ship date and a career field
@King591pwns definitely. I’m not trying to at all. Just didn’t know how fast everything goes after I test. My recruiter has all my paperwork already so I wasn’t sure how it’ll go next. Thanks for the input bro!
Ive heard of 2 weeks after getting through meps, just depends on how fast you wanna go, if you care about what job you get and when the contracts come out.
your color depends where you run on the track when you do the daily PT sessions. red belts get the inside of the track since its the shortest distance, blue belts get the most outside track. when you do the pt test tho, belt colors dont matter.
The give you a backpack full of stuff, however its still nice to bring some of your own things. They have a great system to sort through everything when you get there and at some point they will make sure that you have everything that you need, thats what the bx run is for as well.
