Just Study online practice Tests and buy one of the many books they have at barnes and noble. I got a 36 on the Practice ASVAB studied for a week took the Test and got a 73.
@@austinbrown9743 Avabb for Dummies book. You can get it at Barnes and Nobel. I also Googled Practice Test Asvab and took the online Practice Tests. Good luck man
Tip for people taking the Asvab: search up a job beforehand of what you want to do so you know which areas to study. Since I want to be fire protection, I’m trying to boost my general score which is WK, PC, and AR. Best of luck to you guys 👏🏾
Ben Simpson If you have a high VE your chances of failing are low unless you completely bombarded the math but the math is easy if you practice and study.
CRYSTAL ELAINE thank you I’m giving it my all. I’m just scared of failing the second time because I’m graduating high school already and the last thing I want is to wait 6 months so I have to retake it.
I’m trying to join the marine reservist so I don’t need a high score I’m good with paragraph comprehension, decent in word knowledge, tools, decent in auto, good with shapes and mechanical comprehension will I be alright to pass
I’m going in I did my practice test and got 56% and standard score of 211. I had to subscribe because Your the most recent page I’ve seen ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much for creating these.
You guys shouldn't stress out about the ASVAB at all. I used the Kaplan ASVAB guide scored 84 on my practice and then 79 on the actual test. (Took too long so I missed out on a question that counted against me). Everyone would like to pass on the first try, but don't feel upset if it takes 2-3 tries. Do not rush getting into the Air Force!
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else is searching for asvab practice test try HootArmy.xyz ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my partner got excellent success with it.
I scored a 93 first time I took it. I just took practice tests over and over for a week before the test. The hardest part was waiting in line before the test. I stood in line for hours and i don’t remember how long it took to finish the test but I swear I stood in line longer after the test to see my score
Great insight and honesty...I really appreciate it. I'm thinking of enlisting and trying for the Air Force. I graduated from college a few years ago with an Exercise Science degree and haven't found anything meaningful in the time since...I'm really interested in enlisting and have had previous family members who served and loved the time in the military. Would appreciate hearing any other tips/advice about joining with a college degree. I have no clue what to expect but getting excited every time I look into Air Force opportunities.
Yeah I got 53 the first time but the jobs they are hiring for were only mechanical and electronic(Air Force) so I have to take it again because I only qualified for admin , personnel type of jobs. I literally studied just like you lol. But this time im going to study by writing all the hard problems and percentages and formulas on a note book and study like that and focus on electronics and mechanical ! I can’t wait to get this ovvvverrrr with
There are many factors in passing the Asvab test. One resource I found which successfully combines these is the Kevins Exam Passer (check it out on google) without a doubt the most useful resource that I have ever seen. Check out the amazing information .
For those who don't have a high school diploma, with a GED, you need to score at least 65. My son has been homeschool since the 7th grade. According to his recruiter and despite a higher score requirement, it seems that homeschoolers do better. Do not give up. My son made it. An advice from an US Air force mom, never go to a test unprepared. Check what the ASVAB consists of. Local libraries usually have good ASVAB books.
You mentioned Baltimore what recruiter did you use if you don't mind me asking? I'm from Maryland and need a good recruiter and the one in my area hasn't been helpful.
Hi Crystal I love your channel so encouraging!!! I want to join the Air Force and already spoke with my husband about it. I’m praying he understands this decision because we do have a 4 year old boy I just want to better my life and family. I know the military doesn’t have to be the way but it’s something I always wanted to do. Do you feel your recruiter now is good like he tells you the truth in some way and is encouraging to you ? Idk how to describe what I’m trying to ask but hopefully you understand lol
Brianna Nichols my recruiter was good, he did a pretty good job. Some recruiters will lie to you so be careful and do your research before going to one. I hope your husband agrees with you joining..y’all will have amazing benefits.
Got 40-44 on practice. I would consider focus on word and math knowledge” my weaknesses”. Next time I hope I do better so I get to go to meps soon. Studying my butt off every day.
You’re welcome ! I’m in the process of joining as well and your video gave me a lot of hope ❤️ the first time I took the Asvab I got a 45...I’m aiming for above a 50 🤞🏾 Congratulations with everything love
Your ASVAB experience was just like mine... I scored a 35 the first time and the time I scored a 49. The told me my line scores were good enough to push through. But I really wanted to push for the 70s and above.
TheKutieK’s hey , what branch did you go into ? I made a 47 on my ASVAB at Meps. I just went in and took it without studying.I know it’s passing but I want to score higher.
I took it in school my senior year and got a 21 or 23 the score you have to have for air force is 36 but it’s best if you choose the job you want so you see what score you need to get ...I want to do diagnostic imaging which in general I need a 44 that’s it so I’m working on that that at least get a 50
I took my test in school and I’m 19 too and I relate a lot too your story because I was playing around too I stay in Maryland as well, and I took my test I got a 9 then I took it again in school and scored a 38 then I had to take a confirmation and scored a 16 I just kept trying I just came back from meps like 2 weeks ago and I got a 29 and I was trying to join the Air Force for the longest and I just don’t wanna give up but your story inspires me because I suck at math too but I will pray and keep trying !!
ItsQuii • you got a 9? You’re probably just not the best at test taking but it’s ok!!! Just practice like the week before you take the test but not the day before - make sure you rest - and eat breakfast before you take it.. take your time and USE the scratch paper they give you. You’ll get better, i promise. Just calm down when you’re taking it & take each question one by one.
This crazy I’m 19 been out of high school now like two years graduated in 2018. I take my asvab on Tuesday I said it’s crazy because I’m going through the same thing you been through. Like tbh I am not ready cause I been playing I passed the practice test made like a 46 on it but I haven’t been studying like that as I should. But I’m a Christian and I believe God can help me out but in order for him to help me out I have to help my on self, I can’t just not study then tell God can you please help me when I did nothing. But yea I’m deciding whether to take the test and just study real hard these last 5 days or just tell my recruiter to push it back. I’m praying to see what God wants me to do but yea. Just pray for me and love and thank you for sharing your experience✊🏿❤️❤️
I got a 42 the first time I took it. I’m trying to take it again but I think I’m realizing the process is going to be a long one. I want to leave January 2020 but it’s looking like I’m not gonna leave till later
I got a 38 is that passing for the AF? I took the test twice already (second time I got a 35, dont ask idk wtf happened) and didn’t study. Talked to one of the recruiters who were there during the test and he said I’d definitely be able to score higher if I studied. But I really don’t want to go through that AGAIN. I will if I have to but if my scores qualify then I’m sticking with it bro 😂
I’ve been wanting to join the Air Force but every time I go to a recruiting office there is no one there. I’ve called multiple ones in my area, I’ve emailed the recruiters and everything. So I visited the army recruiting office and they’re ready to recruit me BUT I really want to join the Air Force instead.. I’m not sure what to do I don’t want to keep calling and going by the offices everyday and just waiting around..? Anyone have any advice for me? Lol
Ariana Garrison keep trying with the Air Force. Yes they are hard to track down lol but it’ll be worth it in the end. I had a struggle trying to find one too so don’t give up
Just take practice tests for a couple of days before the test but not the day right before. The day before the test just take a break and prepare for the next day. On the day of, make sure you eat breakfast before you get there and when you get there to take it just calm down. Don’t stress about it & take the questions one at a time, you’ll do fine. Make sure you use the scratch paper they give you for the math portion.
sweat the details so your recruiter will give you a practice test to see where you score but I’m not sure if you can retake the one your recruiter gives you. I know there are practice ASVABS you can take online if your recruiter doesn’t let you retake the practice one they give you.
I’m so late I’m just coming across this video , but how did you study for the word knowledge because i took the asvab yesterday and got a 36 because WK and AR
I made a 86 the first time the questions really simple lol just gotta use the ASVAB for dummies book other then that actually Read and Study don’t just play around with the book and it’s a couple of apps u can download ‼️
I go this Thursday afternoon for the first time in years to take the ASVAB. My scores ranged from a 9,9,14,21,46, then my most recent score of a 59. I have a strong word knowledge compared to math. My recruiter wanted me to go last week but my job wouldn't have gave me off because it would have been a last minute notice so I had to push it out to this Thursday. I am nervous about taking it because I may not get the score I want the first time around. My recruiter was like I think you're actually ready but I don't want to rush you into it. So I will give you the extra time so you can tell your job. I'm going into the Army National Guard. Do you have any pointers or tips so I don't get to nervous or have anxiety when the time comes?
JaQuan Lee tbh what i did was pray before i went into take it. I knew i had studied a pretty good amount. Don’t doubt yourself either or second guess yourself .
I made a 35 on my first practice asvab too and my recruiter told me he wasn’t gonna work with me until I made a decent score. So now I’m studying like crazy! Ugh those dang go math sections... so now I’m trying to make at least a 70. Or higher
Going to the navy, my practice test I got a 63. Real test a 71. I’m terrible at studying so I winged it both times. Honestly thought I did worse the second time
My daughter took the asvab the first time she scored 7 the second time it was 13 cause she was playing around and not studying. Hopefully she will pass it this time. Is there any recommendations for her?
Yes...tell her to study the ASVAB for Dummies book. She can't BS it and just turn the pages and look at the words. It's like being an athlete in the gym. If she doesn't do the work leading up to it, she won't perform well. There's not much more to say about it.
As an ex Air Force vet - unless its changed - there are 4 parts of the test - admin - electrical - mechanical and basic math. I scored 99 on the admin and math and scored 10 on the mechanical and electrical - so after yes I was accepted but the instructor said “Don’t worry we won’t have you working on the planes” 😉
I took it 3 times made a 35 36 and 38 bit tbh I didn't study that great so I'm taking it November 27th 2018 I've been studying my ass off so I'm hoping I can get a decent job
Girl we're from the same place! And you so gorgeous!I just took the PiCat test yesterday at the recruiting station scored 52 which is kinda good to me since I graduated high school 10 years ago. After that my recruiter just took me down to the MEPS to do the confirmation test the same day.So the confirmation test requires you finish 30 questions in 45 minutes and if you got most of them correct you are good to go.Or it will take you to next part to do the whole 9 sections done again.Guess what,I had to do the whole test again I'm pretty sure I failed on the first 30 questions.Who knows how tough it was to me cuz I need to focus on those complex questions over and over again. Finally it took me maybe a little over 2 hours to get it all done.Just don't know why my score got dropped by 9 points which my final is 43.I was like emmmmmm why not just be around 50 lol.Anyway what's done is done, hopefully I'll get my physical exam done soon.
I took mine 2 days ago for the air force and i got a 30 sadly.. it was down the baltimore station and i was sad too but i told my recruiter that I’m gonna study cause i feel the same like u. I wanna be a part of it lls but u got this tho
The book didn't really help me at all, online asvab websites & youtube study guides helped me the most. I got a 76 on my practice test. I haven't taken the real test yet, if anyone has any tips for me I'd like to at least score a 90 so please help.
I took the asvab last week and got a 91 and I’m almost positive I scored so well because I used the practice tests on that website! My practice test score in my recruiters office was only a 69 so i was able to improve my score quite a bit
I use that book didn't help me with math end up 34 on math and still fail and whatever rock your boat for Asvab for dummies book I feel bad I test at Meps 😞😞😞
I was told 30 is the lowest passing score for army, which is the lowest score of all branches, air force lowest is 36 and other branches range between the two. I took my asvab at MEPS lats week and my recruiter told me not to study cause i got an 80 on the practice test my first time and 71 my second time. I got a 90 on the real thing, whereas I bombed my SAT's when i took it cause I did study and it just confused me more. The two tests are VERY differnent imo. Honestly if you score 65+ on the practice don't study it'll trip you up more than it'll help.
Coiwill 86 if you know basic algebra and geometry you’ll be fine. Most of it was word problems too so just be able to do those and you’re set. The asvab was super easy for me on the math portion but I know everyone is different. Like I said I didn’t study at all. Trust your practice score and go from there cause the practice is harder than the real one
Lil Blood I’m not a recruiter idk what the requirements really are, just what I was told they are lol plus a score that low has very few jobs so aim high not just passing otherwise you’ll get a terrible mos
You sound just like me lol . I’m 21 and I took the asvab like 2 times and I fail both times my score was low and the second time I took it I made a 24 . I’m going to give it another shot . I’ve been having trouble with my math is it anything u recommend beside the asvab for dummies?
Lashay Scott i looked up math help for the asvab on RU-vid and also memorizing the basic math formulas also helped too which you could look up on google :)
My advice to any of you who fail the asvab, let alone multiple times, there are other careers out there. Think of it like this, You go into the military, most of you active duty, and you spend 4 or more years in active duty away from a normal civilian life. The military is one lifestyle but the longer you stay in, the longer you're taking yourself away from the civilian world. You can do 10 years, 15, or 20 years and retire but civilian life will always be looming around. The sad part of it is, from my experience in the marines, the ones that struggled getting in the military, are the ones that want out of the military the fastest. This isn't a light decision either, you should thoroughly consider your options. Active duty aside, all the services have a reserve and active reserve component. Some services have a national guard like the army and air force. If you live on the coast, think about joining the coast guard. You don't have to go all gung ho and go active duty. When I went into the marines 12 years ago, there was a war. They were looking for active duty. Joining the military was a spur of the moment thing for me. From the time my recruiter found me to the time I was on the plane for boot camp, that was only 2 weeks. I was in limbo about my future. I don't regret joining the Marines or going active duty but I wish I had figured out my career goals before I went. I would have been more career focused when I finished my military career of 4 short years.
Has anyone heard of PiCAT Supposedly it's a home/non MEPS test and your score is sent to MEPS. After that they told me you just go in to MEPS and take second like verification test which latest 30mins. Did the first 1/2 but I just want to know if it's true.
Yo I made a 45 on my asvab, please don’t take this lightly like her I studied my ass off with the asvab for dummies book which was really helpful. But if you’re not a test taker it’s really easy to fail just be prepared
My homie drop out school never finish high school hated math and took ASVAB test for Air Force he got 85 he told recruiter that he don’t have high school so they waived it n etc he did not study because me n him was gaming that night I took him to take it he score a 85 so he said they made him retake it he scored a 89 so they said he was good I couldn’t here to much but he was happy as hell he show me his score that boy is smart he just hated school he said he pick engineer as his job I’m like wtf he didn’t study and only finish 9th grade and pass with 89 he said he recruiter was very cool understanding so he ship off this Friday luck talking about luck a lot don’t even study and pass I’m thinking about retaking it my self 😌
Young people, I don't understand the anxiety over the ASVAB test. It was such a simple test. The only thing I did to prepare for it was take an Algebra course at a local JC to prepare for the math portion of the test. Granted, my brother and I took our ASVABS in the 80's but my Lord, I didn't even need to take the Algebra course...it was that easy. Btw, our recruiter damn near lost his mind when he got our test scores back. We finished the test at like 11am and he got the results damn near immediately.
On a scale from 1-10 how difficult was the math? I took my practice test last week and scored well the other sections except math. I’m so stressed out I can’t even sleep Bc of how nervous I am to take the actual asvab, the math part at least. I’m so terrible at math it’s not even funny 😭
CRYSTAL ELAINE well fuck, me too lol. I’m joining the navy and my recruiter said the lowest is a 31 but he wants me to score at least a 71 and I’m like damn I’d like that too but the way my brain is set up I don’t know.... anyways thank you! Lol I’ll do my best.
31 for high school students 36 for anyone without a GED (who’s not in high-school) 50 for GED holders. Typically they look for anyone with a score higher than 50
Hello dear friends can someone guide me that if someone has no high school diploma is he can give ASVAB test and if someone just want to going to army it's ganna be chance to pass the test I really want to join USA army I love it it's my biggest dream
You should look into the Coast Gurad. We offer the same thing as all the other branches minus the deployments. Our deployments are considerably shorter. Also you don’t have to pick a job right away. Look into it contact your local Coast Guard Recruiter. www.gocoastguard.com
I made a 49 too and I was so disappointed but my recruiter was like “GREAT !! Good Job.” I’m like naaaaaaaaaa I feel dumb but I stuck with it cause I didn’t want to take the test again lol
Tiffany Nicole I made a 47 on my ASVAB. What branch did you go into ? I want to retake ,if they let me in nervous about it because it’s passing but it’s not high you know...
There are many components to asvab trial exams. One resource I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Kevins Exam Passer (google it if you're interested) it's the best resource that I have ever seen. Check out the interesting information .
Alright I had the same issue you were talking about for the math part , how did you do it for paragraph comprehension and word knowledge? , you basically just like studied every single day ? cause I’m just in the same boat you were in I’m not tryna fail this tesr
I have just one more question when you were learning the math how did you learn it did you study basic formulas first or did you just read step by step in the book ? Cause it’s like a lot to learn that I’m doing
