Carried this battery change out to exactly same rear battery installation (120D E88) and once connected no issues. I think the diagnostics tool is the correct thing to do and may extend battery life but I replaced with exactly the same battery spec. Good video and speeded up my change over time.
Thank you for your very helpful & comprehensive video . I think we can say this has continued the " Special Relationship " between America & the Uk . Nigel England
Thanks for. The video bro. I jus bought a battery, but never thought I would have to reprogram the vehicle. I'll have to return it and pay for. The BMW tax. Damn it.
Actually, depending on the options, the solus can run you over 10k. But you get what you pay for. I have tried many scanners, and there isn't just one that will do everything you need. Some cheaper scanners will do what the DIYer needs to get by but when you are needing a scanner to make a living, and need it to be reliable, your going to spend money to get a good one. I've had people tell me their 50 buck scanner does everything that the expensive scanners do but that simply isn't true(their 50 buck scanner does what the person is able to do, not the scanner). A good mechanic is able to diagnose using the tools available on something like the solus. If your properly educated about what it is able to do, you can practically fix any vehicle. If you knew all the features/capabilities of the solus, 1500-1800 isn't bad at all. I'm not trying to sell snap-on, and actually tell people all the time they are too expensive, but the solus is one of my most valuable tools I use everyday. Without it, I might as well be on a boat with no engine in the middle of the ocean without oars. I really can't suggest other scanners because I haven't found one that is comparable to the solus. The gm tech1 has a few options that the solus doesn't have but that doesn't help you on a BMW. Sorry I couldn't help more.
The computer controls the rate of charge with several factors. One being how the battery is accepting a charge which changes as a battery ages. The computer stores info from the old battery so it needs cleared when a new battery is installed to properly charge the new battery. Every person may have different results not clearing the computer. So you may or may not have an issue by not resetting the info, using the same type battery. Hope I helped! Thanks for watching!
Nice video but lose the stupid music. Distracting and hard to hear over. Adds nothing to the video unless you're trying to teach 11 year olds how to change a battery.
