I was really dialed into your accent today....right up to the point you started chatting to your mate and then boom I'd lost you. However egr valve fix was a good one
For everyones info, nearly all later N47's and N57's have sticky EGR valves like this. Easy fix as seen in the vid, lub with high temp ceramic grease after decoking with brake cleaner and soft brass bristle brush. Perform the EGR service function in ISTA and follow the instructions (car needs to go to sleep twice) for E series
I have same error code: 4CAE Exhaust gas return controller position sensor, signal. Only my N47 is 2008 130kw with vacuum actuator. I've replaced pressure converter, because membrane was faulty. Also replaced egr valve with aftemarket one. But I'm still getting this error randomly. What to do?..
Hi I've cleaned my egr ( n57engine) and it looks work smoth, but still get 4CAE code, what do you mean (car needs to go to sleep twice), what kind of lubricant should I use? could it be a coper lubricant ?
@@aaronc.8393 Yes and no! The good news it that was definitely this part of the EGR that was causing the problem, the bad news was that I couldn't get it off so had to have a garage look at it - they broke it in the process as it was welded on - Great! They replaced it FOC with an older type but working EGR valve - not sure how I feel about it still months later but the car is still running fine. I have no idea if mine was caked on or if in the video above they used some kind of witchcraft to get it off!?!
@@hshelley419 Blimey! Well if that's the case no wonder it's not going anywhere. What a bummer. Thanks for the info, I suppose I shall have to do the same. Cheers.
