Hey mate. Can you get it to display codes that have a format like P1234? Also, what is the symptom of the issue? Is it just a warning light or does it have an obvious driving issue?

@@BMTroubleU Thanks for getting back to me. I only have the codes in E* format, E1145C, E11467, etc. The car no longer starts up so kinda stuck right now.

Disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting can be a free and easy first step to try fixing electronic faults. So give it a go if you're able.

That can be coded in. I have it on my 750.

@@LOrdEnRYQuE hi mate. From memory you need to add the numbers as single digits. So if the last 7 are AG12345 then you would add together 1+2+3+4+5 = 15. The reason the maximum is 45 is because 9+9+9+9+9 = 45. If you're still stuck, there is no penalty to trying every number one at a time. I have had a situation where I knew I was adding the numbers up perfectly and it still didn't work, so I just tried every number from 5 to 45. It took a while but i got there. All the best 👍

You can try, but that probably won't fix it. Warning lights and lacking power (going into limp mode) means there is something wrong with the car. Take it to a mechanic and get them to diagnose the issue.

Yudhistira Hartadi It's the last 5, not the last 7 that you have to use ;)

This menu is for accessing data that is used by the instrument cluster...do not confuse/conflate it with software or data for other systems in the car like navigation or the audio system. The software reset you see listed is to be used for stuff like if you were to replace the fuel level sensors in the gas tank...their data is buffered so that you don't see wide fluctuations in fuel consumption (reflected in the hidden menu as well as the fuel gauge display in the cluster). If you were to replace the fuel level sensors, their immediate data would not be reflected due to this buffering...so if you "reboot" the software, this would remove the buffering to reflect the immediate change of data being received from the fuel level sensors.

Use the second USB that is in the closet, the USB that is in the closet is for import/export. And the one that you are using is for playback only.

Denis Zhuniqi There is another usb slot in the glove compartment thats is for importing music

I think I've had that happen to me before. I'm confident there's no penalization for multiple attempts, and there's only 100 possibilities

At 1:37 the video says you have to add up all the numbers in the last 7 digits of the VIN and the total makes up the 2 digit code

7 + 5 + 0 + 1 + 6 = 19. Try 19.

Sometimes the code it should be doesn't work. Not sure why, but the long way around it to try all possible codes one by one. I don't believe there's any disadvantage to doing so

@@BMTroubleU ok I just took replace the sensor and did the first part of the video

kevin rabs try a battery reset (disconnect the battery for half an hour and then reconnect and recheck). if that doesnt work you may have to get it checked out at a dealership

+BMTroubleU the System test does not work for me. if I push the Button i get redirected to the menu

try pushing radio on off for about 30 second

try to add all your last seven digits together. example: 3+8+4+9+4 = 28

wow, no kidding. just checked out your tutorial on the 535. do you ever have any problems if, for example, a customer returns to the dealership for a software update? i suppose if they couldnt play dvds while driving after the update it would be as simple as repeating the process, is that correct? and what price ranges are you charging for it?

BMTroubleU That's correct, if the car goes for service and the dealer upgrades the software then all you have to do is run the unlocking program again. It's $175

yea, ive had that before. if youre having issues there are no penalties for simply trying every number from 1 to 40 if you really want to get it. it just takes time

it seems like they might not be real codes. they certainly dont have the same alphanumeric makeup as a fault code and after a quick look on the forums i see one of the members has checked his fault codes using a service advisors diagnostic scanner and nothing came up. feel free to take it down to your closest bmw dealership and ask them to check for codes and let me know how you go

No idea. You have to install ISTA/D but it's not as simple as double clicking and exe and hitting accept until it's done. I never looked at that area since coding. I suggest doing an OBD-II check and a vehicle systems check. If they are ok then you don't need to think about the other special things ISTA/D will tell you, but if you are looking to get into it then reply back because it's a very very indepth process.
