I throughly enjoyed this review. In anticipation to my M240i arriving in Dec, the only detail missing was iDrive 8 and the other changes made as of July production, which I would have loved to have your opinion on. Still, a 5 star review in my opinion! well done 👍
I’ve had mine since 2/22 (ordered 10/21) and I’m thrilled I don’t have the new drive system. I’m sure the system itself is fine but I hate the “tacked on last minute look”. The car itself is magnificent. My wife and my 9th BMW since 2011. I’ve had 3 and 4 series coupes and a cabriolet, she’s had 3 series sedans. They’ve all been excellent but this is the most perfect all around car I’ve ever owned and that includes my Boxster in the garage. Whoever has one on order enjoy every minute of your ownership.
Agree on the shifter knob as well. I see your point on the view of the idrive system from the seated position but just wish they would have taken the time to have integrated it in the dash more nicely. It can’t bother me all that much because we’re ordering another 330i next week for my wife which will have it. She just loves the car too much NOT to get one just because of the dash but more importantly she loves the service treatment we get when we bring the car in for service. That’s what you get when buying 9 cars from the same dealership in 11 years.
If you lease a new car every three years after 11 years that’s what it works out to for a 2 driver household. The M240i was not leased though as lease deals are currently horrible. I’ll have this one for a long time as I recently retired.
What the car like over speed bumps? Please tell me there’s enough clearance and it won’t scrape the tarmac 🙏 I really love the look and sound of this car 🚙
Great in depth review and I certainly learnt about some new features that other reviews didnt mention, or the dealership.. I should be getting my MY23 in the next 2-3 weeks and I cant wait!
I wanted a Cayman especially since it has a manual BUT… it’s simply too expensive! This 2 series is just right. In fact I purchased a rear wheel drive 230i and find it’s fun and comfortable for much less money!
