Powered by the mythic BMW M12/7 engine unit in its 2.0L Naturally Aspirated Formula 2 spec with over 305Hp/10.800Rpm and with pretty much every body panel built in Carbon Fibre to achieve a final weight of 835Kg, this is the latest creation of Minichberger Motorsport and the unit that the very owner of the company (Mario Minichberger) is now racing himself.
Built to an impossibly high standard and fitted with Top-of-the-line modern technology like a paddle-operated 6-speed sequential Gearbox and KW suspension, this High-Revving Monster is pretty much the pinnacle of Berg-Cup´s 2000cc Class ( the most popular of the Classically known Gruppe H). Powered by this Legendary M12/7 motor (which became famous not only by its Formula 2 version but also its 1.5L Turbo 1000+Hp Formula 1 version), here it can be seen attacking Osnabruck HillClimb in only its 3rd competitive outing since returning to action, but already displaying some impressive pace. A personal favourite of yours truly, this one is as pure of a Monster as they come...

Great classic Bimmer. My old man had 2 of these. Absolute quality. This one is a MONSTER. Sounds euphoric and looks sick with the blacked out grill. Edit. All them girls around it just made it a total wet dream.

Definitely the sound of induction. The S54 version with a CSL style intake makes a similar, but not nearly as godly sound.

German perfection . Like kid I was totaly crazy for BMW2002tii in late 1970-th . Later I was dream about to buy or own BMW . But life i life and you never know what will happen , about 7-8 yrs ago I was very close to buy BMW 335d . But at that time I did a big Operation and improvement for my comany for one project and the owner of the comany gave me like present Lexus IS250 AWD ( 3 yrs old ) . And I did not buy BMW . But never know , mabe soon . In general I'm not interesting for a new generation of cars , biger bodies , and automatic transmison . All I need is like BMW 1 or BMW 2 ( mabe M2 or 235i in USA model ) with manual transmision . Lite body , a little more power from engine and fantastic brakes and suspension and magical steering like from BMW . As lees electronics and sensors or extra equipments possible . And perfect roads like in Germany , flat and smood .

Stunning example of how to build a race car, the 2002 always looked good but this is epic. So flat through the corners it almost looks to easy to drive though I'm sure it's probably a handful at full chat 👍🏁

Only one downside. Paddles, so no beautiful rowing action. Other than that, the livery is beautiful, classic BMW. The body is sick, and the engine's a screamer. Does the old 2k2 justice.

This is not the old F2 engine from the 70s, it had a different cylinder head and had a much higher pitched voice. This engine appeared in 1987 in the E30 M3.

Great bit of history with some modern performance assistance. Can't be easy or cheap to run even on shorter hill climb couses or is the engine from a group 4 sports racer, something like a Chevron ?

This is a pure M12/7 engine. Tuned to to its limits and full of bespoke solutions to do so. IF you make a quick search you will notice these things are "not cheap" to say the least...

HillClimb Monsters I guess the 6speed box and the lower max speed helps alot then it comes to a power unit fitted in a saloon, that was designed to pull the loads generated by a single seater. By the way, do you know what sort of top speed the 1400's get up to on the faster tracks. I was going to ask Keith Murry when i bump into him, but if you could say that would be great.

will depend on the car as certainly a FIAT 127 even when fully well tuned won´t be able to match a VW Scirocco 1400 like the one Hans Peter Eller drives occasionally (tuned by Minichberger ). But never more than 190 as their gearboxes are incredibly short.

If you take a look at motorcycles, they have about 200 hp out of a 1000cc. For road use, if you use the technics of that engine for a 2000 cc, you shall get about 400hp wihout a turbo

What a beautiful car and so fast on it's debut.And driven by director of the company that built it?How cool is that?Nice to see some shots from pitstop before racing footage.That way we can see them up close and what's under monster's hood.Outside shots are terrific and onboard is fantastic.Mister Minichberger shows class and handles this beauty with ease in it's debut 2019. season,which just shows quality of the build and what great driver Mario is.I'm glad you shared this beast with us.Thank you for this.
