Quick tour of my 1974 BMW 2002tii. These are great little cars! Super fun and reliable. Only thing you need to worry about is rust! Also added some drone footage in the end!

Definitely not too far gone to fix up and restore. Genuine Tii are pretty valuable nowadays although I love daily driving these things. Mine is an early 1602 but with an m44 1.9 on throttle bodies and stand-alone management. Also has coilovers, LSD and minilite alloys.

I totally agree, these cars are so fun to drive! Mine is a 1971 roundie with only 100hp but the way it corners is so much fun 😀 You should keep this car as it is now and enjoy it for a few more years. Just make sure the rust doesnt go to far. Keep up the good work 👍

Hi:) I would keep it out of the salt, but enjoy it if it’s on the road , give it lots of road. Fix it up as u go, as u want. You and your videos with such positivity give me inspiration to use my E30 that’s just sitting in the garage. It’s not perfect but solid. When I see you doing road trips in 70s BMWs I figure , if he can make it, I can too with a 1987! Lol. Keep up the positivity pal 👌

there is no bad 2002, they all have a story , ,and very honest , , ,most important question is how big is your wallet ,, , , you can buy one cheap , or you can buy one expensive, , ,up to you , , or how lucky you are, , , i have four of these babies , , and no they are not for sale, , ,they are too hard to aquire, , at any price, , , fun factor out weighs the money factor

Had a 75 2002 30 years ago, twin weber 45:s, racing camshaft, harder valve springs, insane revs, load of fun to drive, I so wish i just stuck it in a garage and still had it

I would leave the car as is, there’s nothing wrong with patina and rust.

Depends on your financial situation and ability to decide if it’s worth restoring. Personally, I’d leave it as is. If it was too nice, maybe you wouldn’t drive and enjoy it as much.

How do I tell what motor I have in my 1969 BMW 2002?

The easiest way is to look at the actual engine number. This is stamped in the block on the transmission side. The vin and engine numbers are the same meaning a "matching numbers" car is literally just that. You can look up the engine number on the 2002faq production list and see what car it came out of. Hope that helps!
