Excellent video. Don't have this issue but the video shows that this module needs to come off in order to replace the vacuum line and rubber grommet properly.
Guys! The problem is that the brushes in the motor get stuck. So if you take apart the motor an free up the brushes, it will work again, and the cost is only your time spent in the garage. The problem is that it is not easy to take of the motor and take it apart, but please look att this clip and you will understand. Yes the clip is from a BMW motorcycle, but the module/motor is the same. LINK: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6m2H-nC0CqE.html
Yes...I knew mine was stuck brushes because I could bang on the motor with a hammer and punch.....then clear the codes and car would be fine for a couple of days or a week. but then the error would come back. I have had good luck with my salvage car motor and pump. so far knock on wood.
Thats good, hope it holds for a long time. The best thing if taking apart the motor, is to file down the brush sides a bit, so they can move a bit more freely. Tumbs up!
Can I use a fav unit from a 1 series 2011 118? Where i live it's really hard to get an used pump. The only one I have been able to find was taken out of a 118. Thanks a lot!
Excellent video. I am having same issue from last month. I got the part today. But I have a question here why you didn’t replace The Whole unit instead removing parts. If you can help me with this. Planning to replace in 2 days. Thanks 🙏
I had the same codes as I mentioned before. I replaced the pump from a donor car. The same lights are on again. Not sure if I did something wrong or missed a step.
So you do not need to have matching dsc right? My 07 328i has the same abs problem, so if i will buy one off 09 it should have different dsc number, would not be that a problem? Thanks
As I understand it. As long as you use the current control module from your car it will work. All your changing is the electric motor and pump. How long has your replacement one been out of service?
Brandon Crick yes it was a big success. But decided to go different approach. I have did the following: Broke the motor four taps pulled the motor out Pulled the bearing using a special tool Drilled two small holes to press on the latches Remove the motor out of the casing Clean and grease the brushes Put everything back in reverse order Used epoxy to glue the motor back Install the pump Bleed the system using inpa And holaaaaaaaaa All good and working back 😃 Thank you all for everything
Hi, thank you for your work, sorry for my english, i'm french. If i understood correctly, you kept your original ECU and bought a used pump et electric motor ? So you assembled your ECU with your new pump and new electric motor ? Thank you very much.
Salut a tu essayé depuis ? Car j'ai le même soucis et je me demandais si je trouvais une autre pompe et que je prenais juste le moteur est ce que sa fonctionne ( même si ce n'est pas le même code ou réfère ? )
Brandon Crick I have many BMWs. So the one that needs the pump is a 2008 335i with a production date of February of 2008. Then used parts place said I can only use one from a 2008 due to my production date. Is this true? Or can I use one from a 2011, 12 ,13.?
Asim Khan ..I would say try a pump from a newer used donor car. Should be cheap to get a motor from a salvage car. The attached module is programmed to the car. Keep your original module.
watch this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gfgwpn7ev-g.html if the cause of the fault is the electric motor then you can do the swap as we have done in our videos. If the cause of the fault is the control module then it must be rebuilt/replaced and reprogrammed. what year model car is yours?
Brandon Crick Hi Brandon As I suspected, I was hoping you'd busted the myth that "you can't use a donor pump" that just applies to the ecu I have a 2007 z4 coupe Would I have to power bleed my system through inpa?
yeah 07's and 08's were bad about motor brush failure hopefully you can source a newer one. let me know if you strike out....there are shops that rebuild units. keep your original.
Brandon Crick Hi Brandon, I think Iwill probably get it repaired, approximately £200. it just concerns me how they will re-attatch the motor. I will keep you posted! Great video btw I really appreciate guys like you who take the time to post these videos to help others out 👍
