I have this bike (2023 model). I love this bike, I love the sound it makes, the power it delivers without screaming and most all it just manoeuvres so well. A lot of people I know think it’s a big ugly hunk of rubbish but I think it’s a lovely looking bike.
i take it the the RT is a fork and not a telelever? i feel in my r1250gs, i can easily smoke those ducatis, specially in the turns even in 50/50 Tractionator GPS tires. the GS shines in the tight turns too its funny
Always great to see the RT being the sport tourer that it is! And then you could ride it 600 miles to the next set of twisties comfortably. Nothing does that better. ❤
And you wonder why so many people detest motorcycle riders. Families out enjoying their day while motorcycle riders create dangerous roads for cars. Don’t be a dirt bag, ride so everyone can enjoy the road. Personally, I Can’t wait for the 2025 r1250rt.
Like many RT riders I’d riddenJap and Italian sports bikes for 30 + years until my mid 50’s when I simply couldn’t comfortably ride one for more than a few hours at a time. I still wanted a bike that could carve a decent back road so brought my first RT 6 years ago and there simply a revelation I’m 60 yo now. I’ve Taken all the luggage of my RT added a Akropovic mostly for the sound it’s no sports bike but for public roads it’s far more capable than it’s given credit for ....
Great video! Fianlly, someone who rides their RT like I do!! I ride with a couple of guys who have Panigale's every Sunday up in Malibu. If you are ever up this way.....
Great film and great bike. I felt like I was riding it - I have the same model and I like to get up early to ride at similar speeds on certain UK country roads. This is what motorcycling's all about.
I just spent 13:29 enjoying an incredible ride down Big Bear, laughing and smiling the whole way. Nice riding mate 👍 It's been year since I've done that ride, but I'll try to get there next year and hopefully on a new RT.. Thanks again for the ride.
Great video I got a 2016 R1200rt, with a full exhaust and programmer tune and live up in the Sierras. This type of hooliganism fun seems normal. Great to see someone else putting one of these girls through their paces
Great driving, fun too watch😊. I juts sold my Ducati Multistrada V4s for the R 1250 RT. Has no sport bike for the moment, had a MV Augusta Dragster earlier but thinking about Streetfighter for next season. Drive safe and have fun. Ps. My first learning bike was a Indian Springfield, great bikes also. Greetings from Sweden.
Well done, no carbon build up in your motor ha!! Have several heavy HD cruisers but love my FJR 1300 to ride that exact same road and many others in So Cal Mtns. Strongly considering a new 1250 RT, but waiting to see updates for 2024/25 models. Good bike for touring and hot rodding. Enjoyed your video.
The RT is an absolute gem of a bike, I always thought of this bike as an overweight tourer for retirement until I rode one. I’m now onto my second…..and can’t see me riding anything else 😊
The R1250RT is a fast bike, and more nimble that it looks, but the thing weights 300kg and has a lot of inertia. It´s an equilibrim between "being fast enough, confortable enough, big enough, agile enough", and so on. Not the fastest on twisties, nor the nimbler, but...
Certain sport touring bikes are better than those crotch rockets. The problem with the crotch rockets is the fact that the tanks are small and you can only ride them for so long before you have to take a break. I can ride my FJR1300 for hours and up to 130 mph, I can do anything the smaller sport bikes can do.
Is that a full windshield or sports. How do you manage the buffeting from the bike? I thought it buffets a lot with the fullwindshield, and all the rear storage stuff on both sides. Any advice is greatly appreicated.
It’s a full windshield but it’s electronic. You can move it up and down. When all the way up it feels like it’s buffering a lot. But I only have it all the way up when riding long distances on the freeway. Thanks for watching
The aftermarket is your friend here.. stock screen works well for some. Torso length, shoulder width, helmet type, etc. all play a role in finding the best option. It's trial and error unfortunately... Bigger is not necessarily better.
@@mr.stickyfingers3189 I have the full windshield as well and same thing. So are you still able to go 90+ mph with full windshield while it is buffeting on long distance riding... You do you balance against the buffeting when you are at 90+ mph with full windshield or you never cross 90+mph with full windshield.
@@LaxmiGovindan yes. Not sure if it depends on height. I am 6’0 and when the windshield is at its lowest point, I don’t feel any buffering. The angle of the windshield makes the wind go over my helmet
Is overtaking double yellow lines illegal? We in the UK have double white lines which means no overtaking at any time unless a vehicle has broken down and safe to do so... but i watch these American videos and car drivers and bikers seem to do their own thing...
Yes. It is illegal. Nice riding. Looks like a fun ride. Used to tear up Palomar Mtn all the time as a kid. Just ride smart...don't kill yourself (or someone else) for your thrill ride...and remember, these bikes aren't just civilian models...
I miss So Cal. The forest roads in the state and national parks, the canyon roads, Pacific Coast Highway, etc. I miss riding in So Cal too and this video is bringing back memories.
I have the same bike, 2023, best bike for me (I’ve had 3 so I guess I’d better like it!) Fun to watch but agree with others, this is rude, reckless riding. Ok for the track, not the street at those speeds/passing on double yellow.
Just because you are capable of riding at 100 MPH+ doesn’t mean you should be. In some jurisdictions, this self provided evidence would be enough to lay changes and get a conviction.
I've placed a factory direct order for the 2024 RT in the sport blue with the tubular handlebars. It's expected delivery is in November and I'm so excited!!!
