this type of tailgate seems so logical to me. we use a 2014 skoda octavia which has same type of tailgate. i dont see why more sedans have it.

Like the interior of this car! As a whole, I tend to like this one a bit more then most modernay BMW's. It somehow has a bit more of the flair the models of the 70s and 80s all had, the golden years of BMW

Ok, this might be quite long..... I am a lifelong BMW enthusiast but right now I HATE almost every one of the cars that thay make. In the past few years BMW has lost all conception of what being an exclusive brand is. All they car about now is getting as many people as possible to buy their cars. In the past BMWs were what mad you work those few extra hours to afford one. The new models is just way too much. In the early 2000s, they had a nice range of cars: 3-Series Saloon 3-Series Touring 3-Series Coupe 3-Series Convertible 5-Series Saloon 5-Series Touring 7-Series Saloon Z3/4 X5 These are all the cars anyone could ever need. But now: 1-Series 3-door 1-Series 5-door 2-Series Coupe 2-Series Convertible 2-Series Active Tourer 3-Series Saloon 3-Series Touring 3-Series Gran Tourismo 4-Series Coupe 4-Series Convertible 4-Series Gran Coupe 5-Series Saloon 5-Series Touring 5-Series Gran Tourismo 6-Series Coupe 6-Series Convertible 6-Series Gran Coupe 7-Series Saloon X1 X3 X4 X5 X6 Z4 WHO THE HELL NEEDS ALL THESE CARS??? The 2-Series Active Tourer is another argument as well. Would you call a 1.5L FRONT WHEEL DRIVE a BMW because I sure wouldn't. This car is just BMW's way of saying we dont care about exclusivity anymore we just want to really maximize every cent of possible profit. No naturally aspirated engines is also a joke. So much for The Ultimate Driving Machine. All a real driver wants is a big naturally aspirated engine up front, a six-speed box in the middle and all power going to the rear. "Turbochargers are for people who cant build engines" - Mr. Cosworth. "Forced induction is a way of cheating on horse power" - BMW!!!!!!!!! New M cars have also lost their edge. When have you ever heard of an Eco-friendly M car? BMW seems to think they should be. Why cant, even if every other one of their cars were diesel yokes, the M Cars be fire-breathing V8s and V10s? (Sorry if I sounded like Clarkson there!) The 'E' numbers have also got out of hand. It was great when the E46 covered all of the 3-Series'. Now there is F30-F31-F32-F33-F80-F82, i mean does the M3 really need a whole new number, so far away from the normal 3? And the next 5-Series will be the G30. That means that 120 numbers were skipped instead of 5 from the E34 to the E39. I really hope somebody has made it this far!! That's my rant over now, leave me alone with my E39 and I'll be happy!!!

I'm sorry, but it just looks like a squashed down version of the X4. BMW are going nuts at the moment, new models practically every week, and none of which seem to have a market. I mean look at the MINI division-they've got the Countryman, now the 5 door hatch, and a new 5 door Clubman on the way. They're all the same size and very similar in price, so why is it necessary to have 3 different models? BMW seem to be doing what Vauxhall did in the early 2000s, rushing out new models which had little to no purpose. Only difference is, slap a BMW badge on anything and somebody somewhere is gonna buy it.

The reading off the iPad on the dash is a little distracting to be honest, Maybe learn what you want to say before you start filming.

She's clear, concise and organized. Great speaking voice and touches on all the pertinent points. I'm glad she does address the price disadvantage because for a "very similar" 3 Series.....ahem.....I don't know if I'd spend the extra money for this 4-Series...

my 4 series is sooooo noisy on the road, those damn run flats, how did these even make it through the BMW quality assurance ? Even in this video, while she's driving, you can hear the ridiculous amount of road noise, sounds like she's talking in a plane !

I don't hate on this car, not compared to abominations such as the X4 or the 5 and 3-series GT. I see why you would consider this over a normal 3-series sedan.

I think this gran coupe is the equivalent of the Audi A5 sportback with four doors, but I think the Audi is a far more distinctive car, and you can clearly see the differences between an A5 sportback and an A4 saloon. But with this BMW, I can't really see how much it differs from the 3 series......Its a marketing disaster.

I’m 22 and own 2014 BMW M sport X drive and I pay insurance 350$ only insurance without costing petrol And other etc..

So BMW introduced the 4 series specifically to be nothing more than a 2 door version of the 3 series, and now they go and make a 4 door version of the 2 door version of the once 2/4 door 3 series. Unless they simply pasted the 4 badges on the 3 series by mistake and just decided to roll with it.....BMW logic, yay.

Is it necessary to have a big variety of models to choose from? I think the buyer is going nuts with so many options

*This is not a coupe' since it has four main doors nor is it a hatchback since it is a sedan car and besides, BMW said that the 4 series would be an executive coupe'. What's with all this confusion here??*

Looks like 3 series with a hatch (and a hump). Pretty ugly, calling it Coupe is a disgrace to beautiful 6 Grand Coupe. It's not worth any money over the regular 3 series which looks classier and sportier.

Audi is much better because you can fold down the seats and that is standard with bmw you have to pay another £365 extra. Also if you pick the Audi A4 S line model you can pick on interior black and white leather seats.

A monstrosity and a complete dog's dinner just like its big brother the 6 series gran coupe! A 5 series for peroxide school run mums, mid life crisis hairdressers and executives with more money than sense! 😝

So this car is BMW 3 series coupe liftback and its called gran coupe but it isn’t a coupe because it’s a 5 door liftback and car buyer for some wired reason calls it hatchback.

The only current BMW that interest me is the i8. I wish the pricetag wasn't so high.

well that didn't last long, enforcing a numbering system where the odd numbers are 4 doors and even numbers are 2 door cars. the 4 series IS a 2 door 3 series?? why so much fail. just after i got the reason why they added a 4 series they do this. and i own a bmw, so embarrassing, please, consistency at just a basic level would be appreciated. and the one consistent thing you do, that is the same interior design in every car, is so boring and dated. go back to making good quality cars instead of pandering to shareholders, which i add, is when bmw starting going downhill, and trying to appeal to the largest audience, you only compromise yourself when you do that!

This must be one of the most unneccesary cars ever made. If I saw this from a distance, even if I am a proper car nerd, I would'nt see the difference between the 4 Gran Coupe and the 3 Series. A slightly shorter back, and a slightly sleeker roofline. I don't understand why anyone would buy this instead of a 3 Series?

I am so tired of all these niche cars from bmw! I want old bmw back! What happened to just 1-, 3-, 5-, and 7-series?! Now its 1, 2, 3,4,5,6,7, possibly upcoming 8 and 9 series, and 2-4 variations and bodystyles of each series, and x1, likely upcoming x2, x3, x4, x5, and x6, and possibly an x7! Even worse they forgot about the z series roadsters! What the heck happened I think they lost their mind!

Why 4 Series "Coupe" is not hatchback? Gran Coupe is better than it.

Ca maker logic before "We need a small mid size family car" makes sense Car maker logic nowadays "we need a small size family car" makes sense --> "lets turn it into a coupe!" still acceptable --> "Lets turn the coupe back to 4 doors, while keeping the original family car version, but keep calling it a coupe and give it a higher price. We can also insist its not a niche market and convince people its a totally different car" wtf. Repeat for mid size executive saloons and SUVs.

I own a BMW 530i touring and all I can say is that my next WON'T be a BMW. The cars all look the same,most of them use the same engine,the interior is pretty much the same too. BMW used to be nice and exclusive now they are just cars.

Let's take a 3-series, lop off the 2 rear doors and call it the 4-series. Then add the 2 doors back (and X amount of dollars) and call it the 4-series gran coupe. Righttttttt

Like Audis I find that BMW's all look the same, just different sizes. Affordable leasing has meant the roads are flooded with them and they are no longer exclusive. BMW of the past were good, but now it's more a case of perceived quality rather than actual quality. The reliability surveys tell you all you need to know.
