Interesting, my bmw '99 E39 528i has been having electrical power issues lately and today after I turned off my engine for about 2 minutes i tried starting up my car again and all the electrical power went completely dead, no dash lights, no power locks or even the windows worked. There was no way way a battery could drain that quick and completely dead in 2 minutes so i checked for loose cable connectors on the battery terminals and they were on fairly tight but what I discovered was when I wiggled the only positive battery cable itself all the electrical power turned back on, So your video could explain exactly what my electrical power problem is. I will look into it further tomorrow. Thanks for your video.
If you break the T-shaped bolt that allows the cable to clamp to the battery you cannot get one from BMW, they dont sell them separately from the cable... but you can go to a auto parts store that sells Standard Motor Product branded parts and ask for a BP59C, or the BWD branded part BH59B, or go to a NAPA and ask for a 718628. Dont overtighten, the torque needed is 5NM or 3.6 Ft Lbs.
I have a 2006 BMW X3 got rear-ended,i try to started everything lights up and you can hear a click but it won't start,do you think that could be the issue the BST
hi, ive got airbag and restraint sytem malfunction,the code that comes up is ( 9AFF Resistance firing circuit, safety battery terminal, too high ), the bst seems to be fine,ive cleaned every connection and had the codes cleared,but it comes back on after a short time, the charging output is about 14.5 volts from alternator when measured at the battery terminals,also car has been to BMW for a recall issue concerning a cover for the battery cable terminal in the trunk,cheers for your help
do these things fail for no darn reason at all ? I have a BST on my 2002 e46, that hasnt blown, but is showing a "resistance too high" from the BST circuit. Any possibility of the black wire being loose or rusty i.e. is the resistance measured between that black box wire -> the yellow plug on the BST ? Thanks for the video, very helpful.

hello Thomas I just been hit on the road from the back and the car won't start but the radio and everything works except the engine is this what I need to replace I'm guessing seatbelt pretensioners exploded the airbags didn't went off but when you turn the key the engine warm run and I have the airbag warning light on
Hi will you be able to help me, l have my BMW's water damaged computer box replaced with an automatic computer lock-set. My car starts very well but the steering wheel doesn't unlock even though the engine is idling.The second thing the radiator fan keeps on running without shutting off. My car is a 2011 model, 320i, Petrol, manual sedan. The steering wheel just remains locked it doesn't turn. The car's ignition is a start-stop one with the remote key fob. Please help.
Fuck BST. Idc what they thought it could do but apparently it blows up after driving through a pot hole or a bump at 5 mph. Now the car doesn't start for literally no reason

what caused yours to do that? that happened to me when I was hit and airbag was deployed. some sort of safety thing do the car doesn't start with a deployed airbag

Is this what would be happening to my honda prelude? I got into a minor accident hit the back of a semi going 5kmh my radiator was pushed in and damaged. I think the battery was damaged too im not sure also my key is stuck in the ignition won’t come out since I crashed.
i just bought a bmw 2006 330i from the auction the car was hit lightly broken headlight no air bag deployed checked the bts and looked fine but i have no electric power what so ever in the cockpit can start the car as well, if i press the power on the radio it will turn on and the in dash the button that shows the k also lights up no christmas lights. please help me out what i should do i live in hamilton ontario.

This a battery SAFETY terminal. It's purpose is to keep you from being in a fireball of a car when you are in an accident. What is your life and lives of your passengers worth?
BMW cooked up this idea not because you're in dire danger of being in a fireball from a rear end accident, but rather because BMW engineers needed to find a way to charge you $400 for a battery cable, as if their intelligent battery system requiring you to electronically "register" a new battery with your car wasn't a sufficiently profitable dealer service magnet. My 1988 BMW 750iL has neither of these bizarre concepts baked into it. i am alive, well, as well as physically and economically healthy without them.
