BMW E30 Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

This isn't known for being the most fun job to do on an e30, but with the right tools both rear wheel bearings can easily be replaced in less than a day.
Some of the tools you'll need besides the basics:
Large bearing separator - (www.harborfrei...)
Front Wheel Bearing Adapters - (www.harborfrei...)
You can also get these on loan from some Auto Zone locations
Axle Nut Socket - (www.amazon.com...)
You will also need a couple large adjustable wrenches to turn the bearing press.
The first one takes a while, but be patient, and be careful to use the right sizes for the bearing adapters. Let me know if you have any questions.

I had a string of consecutive problems with that car last year. It was frustrating at the time, but the reward was a fun car that is track ready. All worth it in the end.

I use a slide hammer on the hub so I don’t have to take apart the emergency brakes

I tried a slide hammer...there was no way that was going to work on mine. It just couldn't generate the same force that the press could. Glad it worked for you though, would be nice to not mess with the parking brake.

Damn so my 'simple' dustshield change is gonna be fkin wheelbearings included if that stuff is seized onto the hub gg

The hub on the other side came off clean...so maybe you'll get lucky. But if I were going so far as to remove the hub, I think it's worth it to go ahead and replace the bearings too. #whileyoureinthere

How long did it take you do change one rear bearing?

The first one was a couple hours because we had to figure out how to best use some pretty worn out tools. The second one was easily half the time of the first and went remarkably fast.
