I miss driving mine haha. Thank you for the clips. This is the motivation I need to fix mine.

Totally! Mine is not drivable either. I'm doing the rear sub frame and all bushings right now. What's up with yours? By the way I love your videos!

@ianscarhole6992 Thank you! Mine is in the process of receiving a new head gasket, timing components, and basically a whole refresh of everything in the engine bay. At 255k miles it was time haha. I am also doing some track prep like an S54 radiator, Stewart waterpump, etc. Rear Suspension refresh transformed the way my car drove. I highly recommend that maintenance to anyone with these cars. I did poly in the rear end but even new rubber is amazing.

Oh damn! Good for you. That will be a great accomplishment and hopefully will be solid for a while. I saw your videos but didn't see how recent they were. I am excited for you to get it back and driving! Good luck

God so much motivation to fix mine, just got done replacing alternator, all tensioners, all tens and idler pulleys, go to fire the car up, starter is dead after sitting for a while. lmao good thing is car getting refreshed all new parts should be reliable for a while.

Dude same! Haha my car has been in jack stands for over 3 months overhauling the rear end. Every so often I watch this video to get me pumped up again. Good luck and keep me posted when you're back on the road. So much of the experience of these older cars are taking care of them and learning about them 👍

I don’t get why people hate on the US version of these beautiful cars. I am so blessed enough to own one of these cars at just 16 years old, thanks to my amazing parents. I haven’t quite been able to drive the car yet after having it for about a month, because it got a flat and I can’t afford new tires 😋. The one time I got to drive it though, I realized there truly is nothing else like it. Who cares if the 81hp difference is there, true car people know that it’s not all about the numbers. Sure, driving a G80 M3 would be insane I’m sure, but it just isn’t the same as an e36 analog wise.

People hate the us version because it got a different engine to the eu spec E36 M3 The US spec one is a turd of an engine when compared to the eu s50 engine... For example S50 eu engine: ITB's, 7400rpm redline, dual vanos, tubular equal length headers, and more importantly it's 3.2L Whereas the s52 US engine Single throttle body, 6500rpm redline, single vanos, standard m52 3-2-1 headers, and it's also only 3.0L The eu s50 is 321hp while the US s52 is only 240hp That's why everyone hates them

The us version was 3.0 L in 1995 but they upped to 3.2 L after that I believe. My 98 is 3.2 L and it feels fast! I think for a car like this that is very balanced w power and handling the US version is still a great car in its own right, especially nowadays in the face of modern cars where power is so abundant: many people want the FEEL of the car not just the power
@jpopam3money
@jpopam3money 8 месяцев назад
@@biggsmaster6444 how is the us engine a “turd”? WAY Less maintenance, way more reliable, incredibly easy to work on, and parts and labor is relatively cheap if you do everything yourself and source from the right places. More power on the EU car and ITBS just means more things to break. Also, the S52 is a 3.2 not 3.0.

@@iankleckner350 the display on the dash cluster is unreadable, so, no idea on the miles , but, it looks and drives like it has less than a 100,000 on it, it;s amazing, i wish i could send a picture here. Island cars usually don't go that far over many years, Big Island Hawaii, I'm 67, I've had over 200 cars and Beemers are always nice. I've had a 2002, 528i, and this 325is, and this car seems to have a sweet zone: 3rd gear 30-80 mph, it's like it was built to live and make smiles with ease in that zone, how's yours?

The way the intake screams reminds me of vtec on a s2000 or something lol It's so good I love it. I'm considering one of these tbh I want a fun rwd car w old school induction sounds and enough power to get sideways here and there
@ianscarhole6992
@ianscarhole6992 8 месяцев назад
Yes totally! It doesn't rev super high but it is extremely satisfying. This car has a lot of low end and mid-range torque and in the mid-range it sounds amazing with the induction sound at wide open throttle. I'll try to grab some other videos of those sounds once the weather warms up. Even if you pick up any E36 BMW like a 325, it will be a great experience and great value. Just make sure it doesn't have a lot of rust on it and that you take care of the cooling system, preferentially completely replacing the radiator, coolant expansion tank and all of the hoses. Hoses. You might do better with an E46 BMW instead because they are newer. Thanks for the comment! Keep me posted if you pick one up

Oh amazing, what a treat! Must be so fun to rip around with that induction sound. I wonder if it's because I'm using a 6" long silicone coupler between the maf and the filter, as opposed to a harder material that would otherwise resonate louder 🤔 who knows!
