Happy Friday guys! I've been in similar situations and made it work by not attaching the pump side until the hose and sender are close to in. Tie some rope to the pump end with a hose clamp and some short dowel and push the hose all the way in then pull the rope, to attach the pump. You'll probably need to remove some twists and kinks first but it should work. Have fun! Hope you make it to rolls!
Wow well that's a very lucky find... good thing you found out about that before sealing it all up.. I wonder how its going in the 335? Looking forward to seeing how things go out at rolls with I could be there 😊🤘
After doing a bit of research the inside of the hose is fine. But the outer layer can not come in contact with fuel. What madness... Basically its fine how it is in the 335i, just can't go in tank.
Also y'all might want to give some consideration to showing you solving/verifying the problem on live data scan tool or ISTA. It would have been cool to watch the pressure build, and then immediately drop, so you can see on a scan tool what you saw IN the tank itself. Just an idea, once the website is all up🤷🏻♂️
I think you can get just the hose with the quick connect fittings. Always fun in the gas tank!!! My stage 3 LPFP line in my N54 caught the float so it was stuck in the up position so then I ran out of gas but cluster said 1/2 tank. Fun times in the gas tank🤦🏻♂️
I love the channel , I did a Dyno today in my 01 M5 RK supercharger did 518whp at 6300rpm before going lean at 13.5, I’m sure at 7300 RPM I would be 15afr HTE said you upgraded the pump I have a Walbo now and I’m very curious how you resolved the hose issue? This would really help me, I appreciate your channel Thank you Mario
Hi Mario, I ended up borrowing the hose from a E90 335i that was being parted out. They have a really long hose that runs in the tank from the Right side to the Left side. So I took that, cut it to length, then installed it to the e39
Very lucky find before putting it all back together. Unfortunately no rolls for me bad news on my front - Rear turbo dead ☹ exhaust wheel damage looking into what caused it now... meh. Probably still head out though and catch up with you all. Good note - Trying to entice Mr NUT330 in the F10 to come out for a run.
DUDE!!!!! that sucks so much! Thats not a lot of life out of the turbos. Yeah do head out, gonna be to catch up with everyone. Would be sick to see the F10 out again if he's got it all running sweet now.
Just installed a Walbro 450 in my M5 with the optional dedicated relay wiring harness. Is it normal for the pump the always run with the key in POS 1 and not hit a certain line pressure and shutdown until cranking? Maybe this is normal in a return style fuel system?
Luckily you already figured out but the SAE 30R14T2 (got the part number from pausing the video) isnt meant to be submersed. I also think its rated at 50 PSI working pressure. Look for some Gates submersible hose, part numbers at www.gates.com/us/en/fluid-power/engine-hose/fuel-line-hose.p.4219-000000-000012.html if the link works. I think the spec is SAE 30R10.
Totally BMW unrelated question: When will we see an off-road bike episode? Or are you just dealing knobblies? (I've got a couple of Honda XRs in the back of the garage)
Slack with videos?! Gee I'd hate to see how much content you pump out when not slack. You guys post more vids then a teenage girl on tiktok. You should do the slowest zero to 60 as well. 🤣🤣. Enjoying your content guys.
If you ever want advice, or a hand to sell some products overseas, give me a yell. I'm based in NZ at the moment, been playing with BMW's for quite a few years now, and always on the lookout for good suppliers of quality parts.
I may have a piece of -8 hard line here defiantly have some -6 and -8 braided Teflon I’m pretty sure could put a clamp on that. If you want me to have a look and see what I got msg me facey
