Thank you also! Took the wheel and the inner mud shield off (I think it's much faster and easier to take the wheel off than trying to undo the dozend of bolts of of the mudd shield with the wheel in place ...) and could grap the cables (this was a bit tricky, I plied a steel rod into a hook form to catch them). After I put cable straps to the cables so that next time one could easily pull at their long end ;)

Hi Nethan Good to see you I love your videos and the way you guide I must appreciate your efforts Kindly explain what is the difference between the differential & TRANSMISSION OIL in X5 E53 4.4. 2001 are both same??? Or both are different & which product you will recommend for the TRANSMISSION oil The red or the white ?? Desperately waiting for your kind reply Regards FARHAN

I tried this, and was able to access the cables through the headlight housing box. I yanked on the cables, but the hood still wouldn’t give. Any suggestions??

i have a quick question i notice on the drivers side latch there is an electrical connector but I cannot find where that plugs in for the life of me

In the e61 estates it's for the boot cover and boot ( glass bit ) so might not be used in yours

Hey Nathan, I've been subscribed since I found your timing chain guide M62tu video a couple years ago. Now looking to upgrade to a 2014 X5 with the N63tu, any words of advice? Besides stay away?

took me four days to get the left latch open, right latch still wont open... left latch took pliers to broken cable from inside the drivers side of car, machete under the hood, pulled on cable after removing grill,, used a knife to slide left side, used handle release from front of car.. I dont know what worked but finally the left side seems to be up a inch or so, now the right one.. could take four more days

This does not help. I'm stuck on a country road right now stranded and I cannot for the life of me see that cable from under the car. I have a 2008 535xi. All I need is to add fucking oil
