This is hooked up wrong. You have to put catch can in series meaning you cut the accordion style hose off and hook up catch can hoses in its place. That’s why you won’t get any oil in the cans.
Hi I've got the same problem I've added catch can and I followed your instructions the catch cans are dry. Do you think the check valves are not working as it still blows blue smoke as you described. Thanks
The reason you had the excess vacuum & squealing noise with UPR check valves was because the stock check valve connected to the intake hose has a small leak hole which allows fresh air flow back into the crankcase and does not allow the vacuum in the crankcase to go above a maximum of 100 mbar (i.e. 90 % vacuum)
You're right about the UPR valves, but the system I'm running right now is also one way without any leak holes, but it runs perfectly without any smoke or oil consumption. Small leak hole is only in newer replacement PCV systems. The check valves in older hoses did not have any, and it completely blocks flow in one direction.
Hi I will send you a picture. Its not whistling. My car idles perfectly it only the smoke problem. How do you know if the check valves are working? Thanks Mark
Good video bro mine x6M so same as your car do you have any throttle body problem cause mine kept having map absolute throttle angel bank 1 too low I believe throttle is toasted
Actually, hold up - I will be re-doing the catch can setup with different parts and routing of hoses. This worked for a little bit but the hoses I used could not hold up oil and kept leaking.
Oil cap was from ECS Tuning - I will be dropping another video soon with a better setup (basically to separate each bank) with additional check valve which resolves the vacuum issue.
I have exactly same problem with E70 2009 X5 Should i change PCV? After running for 4-5 km or more the same sound starts But Car run fine And Sound Goes away if i restart the CAR
Where is the sound coming from? It could be the serpentine belt or PCV. For serpentine belt, spray some WD40 to test and PCV, remove and test/check the check valves first. Check valves could potentially be stuck closed or open.
Hi! I have a problem with my BMW X6M 2010 4.4 555 hp 175.000 km. The car is misfiring. At first it was on cylinder 1. I put new spark plugs and coils. When I clear the fault the car runs good but after 5 min the check engine is back. And the misfire changes every time. For ex now it is on cylinder 1, I delete it and after is on cylinder 5. It changes between cylinder 1,5,6 and 7. What could it be?
Hi, what spark plugs did you get? Did you check their gap or installed them as they came? If the misfire comes up as an error on a specific cyl, the rule is to move the spark plug or ignition coil to see if the misfire moves with the change. I'd suggest you check spark plug gaps and move spark plugs from cyl 1, 5, 6, and 7 to others, clear codes, and check again - if the misfires move, then spark plugs are either gapped wrong or faulty. If they don't move, next would be to move ignition coils, clear codes, and check again. Good luck!
You are supposed to have difficult time removing the oil fill cap if your engine is healthy. If you can easily take it off... you're in for a world of hurt.
It did. Issues that I faced were related to the PCV system, probably one of my check valves was bad and when I installed catch cans. It stopped smoking and consuming oil. So it doesn't smoke nor consumes oil (I change oil every 3,000 miles or 6/mo). Yep, IG e70_xratedm
