Most underrated engine the B48 if you built this right like port injection with some E85, and big boost stage 3 turbo on like 33psi with of course a built engine it can push around 510 WHP. That is ridiculous for a 4 banger, in the future I wil get this job done and the respect towards 4 Cylinders will grow, because I’m tired about the fact that only 6/8 Cylinders are moving. In this case people think the 335i or the 340i’s are only fast….. have a look at the 320i from evolve tuning wich is just stage 1 with a back box. It keeped up with m3/m4’s/M5 F90 and not decent but constantly on the ass of the ( fast 6/8 cylinders ). Even overtaked a 550i G30 stage 1 both on full throttle. So there is al lot of potential in this engine and this platform.
@@ItsSerialBoX maybe it could but I’m from Europe and my engine is B48b ( higher compression pistons). I thought the 430i had also the B48 engine i have actually never heard of a B46 😅.
@@ItsSerialBoX are you are from the US? I totally would understand why it is called B46 because B48 and B46 are basically the same engine but in the US it’s different on some little specs like it’s an SULEV engine.
@@am0473 Yea, I'm from the states. I think the B48/B46 are mechanically the same, but I think the ECU tunes are a little different due to emission standards. I could be wrong, I've been having trouble finding info on it.
I'm definitely going with at least a stage II turbo, Im just trying to get more info if I will need to upgrade fuel mods or internals to run maybe 20 lbs of boost and make around 350whp comfortably.
Check what b48 u actually have A lot of b48 engines on newer 20i models are actually mechanically the same as the 30i (with lower boost target in software at the ecu)
@@peterwatson9047 easiest to just check your engine bay to be honest Take the plastic cover off and look for the engine model If it is b48b20b, the guts are internally identical to the 30,if it is b48b20a, you have different (higher compression) pistons. I wouldn't imagine it would make sense to swap the pistons since that is quite a big job, you might as well change cars..
