I love these exhaust videos. Your STI exhaust series helped me decide on one (even though I'm not equal length). From this video I would say a cross between the stock and the Inked setup would be good for me. I think why I didn't like the Inked one as much had more to due with the mic breaking up than the sound. It would be good to hear with a reduced mic volume to get a good comparison.
Haha it was my first time filing the new setup so I didn’t know what to expect. I have a whole video on more drive bys with the inked setup on the install video.
I like that you mentioned the similarities w the e46 sound. Ive compared it to the n54 as well. I have both an m4 and n54 335 and they at certin rpms and w certain exhaust set ups, sound similar as well! Great vide brother!
I definitely like current setup but from what i see/hear online I’d also suggest looking into valvetronic if you haven’t already as it seems like a pretty good setup
It’s an awesome setup! Super aggressive. Hit up inked for current pricing. I was the first to run this muffler and since then, he’s made quite a few more, so I am not sure what pricing is now. But I will say, worth every penny!
I have the same rear and single resonated midpipe coming from Inked. It’s definitely not cheap but his quality of work is insane. He keeps you updated regularly with pictures and videos. Nothing he does is off the shelf including his muffler tips. Great guy.
So just got my F82 and new to BMWs. Would changing the mid pipe or intakes/ drop in filters require a tune? I know when I had my STi it seemed like anything I put on required a tune
Great video. Hopefully you are able to help me out just a liiitle more.. I recently bought an m3 that came with an AA single mid, as well as MAD downpipes. The car came with a stock exhaust installed due to emissions. As of right now I do not want to put down pipes on, so I’m left with the single mid. I am very interested in installing the single mid, but what else is involved? Do I need to get bm3 and a license in order to clear sensor codes? Any other advice for install? Also, how do you go about inspection in New Jersey? I am from PA and idek if the single mid is legal or not to be honest.
The muffler doesn’t have to do with emissions. You’ll need to change out the downpipes and put the cats back in to pass emissions. No tune needed for the midpipe alone since it does not affect emissions. Put the stock downpipes back in and clear the codes and you’ll pass.
Hey Scoob how has the drone been with the new muffler? I’m really interested in talking to inked to run his 4” mid non res and the no drone muffler delete but it is my daily. I’m running AA single non res and dinan muffler valves always open currently. I don’t mind the little rasp and I’ll be keeping stock cats but you definitely got me curious.
It drones but it’s not as bad as you’d think. I actually have his single mid pipe coming with a resonator to pair with the muffler delete to rid the rasp. Should be the same volume due to larger piping, but deeper and remove any remaining rasp and drone.
@@Scoobyfreak86 Rad, can't wait to hear the new setup. Appreciate the reply. And thanks for making my F80 build so easy haha. Are you considering the CAE shifter at all?
It’s weird because I love the AA cold start and light rev, but I like the full throttle AA w/ inked..tbh on full throttle it sounds the same kind of..is this with stock DP
