BMW GS HANDLEBAR RISERS are not an essential item. However, due to the limitations of motorbikes, making yourself more comfortable on the bike involves putting your hand in your pockets the best of times.
I opted for aftermarket handlebar risers from SW - Motech for my BMW GS1200.
A very easy install and a very much appreciated upgrade to my riding position.

I'm finally getting there, installing the Handlebar Riser will hopefully improve my riding position. another job is done. What improvements or changes have you done to your bike?

the way you put the handlebar in front of the steering head (upside down) gives you a good chance to get air in the braking system.

All good. I had worse when I fell off the bike. But thank you for bringing it to my attention. Suppose as long as you don't press the break everything should be OK. 👍

Be good to know how you get on with the risers, is it better for road work (more comfy ) ?

It is more about riding position. Unfortunately we all are different build. For me having a slightly higher handlebar allows me yo sit more straight, keeping my back in a better position. It is really down to the individual. I was OK standing up during off road. But the extra 30mm and the slight backwards adjustment really helped my posture.

Got a 2019 750gs and was looking at the ROX brand risers. They bring the bars up an inch and a half, and back an inch. Looking for a more upright sitting poistion. Did your risers bring your bars up and back that much? And did it pull on any of your cables? Did they have enough slack?

HI Paul. Yes they brought it back a little. My Raiser are 30mm and this did the trick. Even if they don't come back to much, you straighten out you back due to a more upright position. So you don't hunch forward anymore. Best Stephan

Check it out on the SW-Motech website. I'm not sure. I think they cover almost all models.👍
