Brocks sounds the best here, I tried it on my friends bike on the drag strip, sounds lovely and performs very good. I don't like the long Akra on S1000RR, looks too big and sounds normal
Another slick production there 650I. HP4 is one of my most favoured bikes ever. Amazing power really. My 2008 R1 is stock except for cat removed and PC3 to dial in the fueling, and it makes 165 rwp, not including ram air of course. And that bike feels crazy fast. Cant imagine what an extra 28hp feels like for the similarly modded HP4. Keep up the good work and greetings from the Emerald Isle here.
Just watched your cruise to bike night video and loved your highway smack down of those pesky out of towners !!! LOL. I thought the early R1 in the very last segment was still an outstandingly beautiful bike, and like a Ferrari, has aged incredibly well, the true test of a fantastic design.
Nice 1 A mate of mine has been dyno'ing KTM 1290's and found out the airbox/intake is the limiting factor and the factory CAT and headers can handle the flow until you can get more air into the engine.
I just love all three here in the UK hopefully when I get my hands on retirement money i'll be purchasing my HP4 later this year. Really looking forward to the day that happens actually popped out today to view one few miles away from me carbon everywhere 14 plate with only 5690 miles on the clock £15000😎 . In your video I was seriously impressed the the stock bike making 191bhp at the wheel for me that's insane very impressed. Great video 650ib keep them coming always look forward to the uploads ride safe bud 😎👍
Love your vids man, even though I own a gen4 10r lol. What do you think of David's austin racing inconel system? Read that the material's heat resistance/insulation properties allow better gas flow than ti by keeping the gas hotter longer. Perhaps can add another 3-5 hp.
Hey, thanks for the compliment and for viewing my vids! David's exhaust is VERY NICE and it produces massive power! He's the fastest person in our group of over 50 bikes! It looks nice too.
ibsabur nice vid and set up, you're also the only one with a ECU Flash so maybe you can make a part 2 of this video when you're friends get the same computer work as you, for a more accurate comparison :) just jerking your chain IBs, you should learn to play along lol
LUDE4LIFE1 have you catch the videos with the s1000rr and HP4 with an Racefit exhaust and Austin racing exhaust ? I'm yet to see the numbers on ither one but they're pro level pipes as I understand it, look'em up
Sickestonesriders MinistryClub Oh ya I have seen the pipes, just no direct comparison yet. I love seeing comparisons like this. It's great for the consumer. I wish Motorcycle magazines here would do a test like this with one bike, and pick 3-5 different exhaust systems and put them all on the dyno the same day. Then people can really see the true number difference, and make a decision on not only looks, but true power.
Nice video! Good to know! Awesome bikes! My buddies one did 193bhp std, with akrapovic full pipe, pc5, auto tuner, secondary fuel mod, intake it did 209bhp which is stronger than our nationals race bikes at 195-205hp...
I think the Brocks sounds best. Greetings from germany, nice video! (pps: Nothing can beat the sound of a Ducati 1199 Panigale, still love the HP4 though!)
Great video, very informative. Has confirmed to me that I won't be getting a Bren Tune when I get my 2015 RR. The low and mid range is quite poor and lower than stock. For a few HP gain up top I can't see how it can be justified.
Hi there. The BrenTune also adds +500 to the rev limit, better throttle response, better quick shifter response and it gets rid of the Power Commander. I think it's worth it.
I'm a tuner myself mate (cars), and I'm sceptical about the merits of a Bren Tune. Frankly the 15 RR tune is very good out of the box. The throttle response is much improved over the older models, so I won't be utilising his services.
But is it really needed when you can kiss your warranty goodbye. These things have more than enough power anyway. Plus his tunes are considerably overpriced for a generic map
Generic map? You have been mislead entirely lol. But when it comes down to what these litre bikes are putting out, only the pros are able to use every bit of HP to it's fullest, so I do agree with you on that
Brock's performance sounds best, but I'm not a big fan of the looks. Couldn't you make a video with a slashcut exaust like Race Fit's slash cut? - That would be awesome plus it looks pretty badass!
Very informative video man. Good job. First I Will say those are very nice bikes! I am shocked that removing cat only gained 2 hp, I am even more shocked a full brocks and flash only got 7 hp. I thought the Bren alone was worth 8-10 hp from someone I know with it. That is a friendly dyno there. Numbers are little high for sure. The stock one on most dynos with sae correction put down 181-185. What correction factor was being used?
Thanks man!!! I invited a stock 2014 S1000RR to the shoot out but he couldn't make it. I thing the stock S1000RR would have produced 185HP. We have to compare my bike to a stock S1000RR and it makes 13 more HP. Keep in mind that the stock hp4 comes with an awesome Akra full titanium exhaust and the hp4's ecu is mapped for it. Its hard to squeeze more HP from the starting point of the stock hp4. I'm pleased that my bike produced 8 more HP than a stock hp4 and 13 more HP than a stock S1000RR.
ibsabur gotcha. Would be like a s1000rr adding full system and full tune. Not much to add after that. Which is what AG down here has done, plus top secret stuff... That only I know about. Lol.
ibsabur the hp4 really does look good! Love the blue. Check out the video and pics I added to Google+ of my new RSV4. MIVV system, race ecu, and carbon fiber everywhere plastic used to be. It's no top end beast figuratively speaking, but makes such great power and sound.
I will check it out now! I like the rsv4 but we don't have a 'real' dealer in Cleveland. There's a shop that sells them but their service department is weak! Is AG King Ness or are those 2 different people?
ibsabur oh ok. We have several good dealers in Dallas and AF1 racing just down in Austin. They are the #1 aprilia race dealership in the country. AG has the red and white one, Ness has the blue one. Ness only weighs like 160 lbs! Go watch my new video Rev Limit on desktop site, won't show up on mobile. Me and Ness go at with same gearing and top speed. Good race.
ibsabur You should get all those zx10r down there @ the same time as well as that prepped zx10r =)) and please get TQ numbers thats actually as interresting.. good stuff..
Great video! Should I get an HP4 or S1000RR? If I go HP4 should I get the standard and buy my own carbon fiber or competition model? Which one is more economical?
I'd get that HP4. It's best to purchase the competition edition because it comes with carbon fiber, rear sets, levers and blue wheels. Let me know what you decide!
ibsabur That's what I was leaning towards. I'm aiming for the middle of next month if everything goes as planned. Thanks for the fast reply, I'll keep you posted.
You know, I could see if BMW did something ACTUALLY special with the HP4 (OHLINS forks, susp, stabilizer, etc). BUT when nothing more than some OEM BMW carbon fiber, paint job and a SEMI active suspension, I can't see paying extra $10K. Other than that good vid
Thanks my friend. Yeah, I kinda feel the same way after seeing the AWESOME R1M with it's full Ohilins semi active suspension, clutchless up/down shifter, TFT display and LED headlights! I wish BMW would have done more for the HP4 :-( Thanks for viewing and commenting!
650ib Do you guys know what the R1M will cost already? I think there is two models and one for the road doesn't have it all the fancy stuff. As for the HP4 I still have standard exhaust and I still don't know if couple of hp's would really make a big difference on the track for me, I don't thing I will be ever able to tap into its full potential anyway ;-)
Sorry bro it only has a clutchless up shifter on the new r1. There is no down shifter yet on the 2015 r1. I only ride yamaha r1 i have had all the other cbr, bmw rr, mv, gsxr, ninja. Out of them all i i just like the crossplane better. That is just my opinion. Now i do love all bikes and nowdays they are all fast, it's just what you like. You guys ride safe. Also i never had a duck never like them.650ib
Nice bikes! interesting test But two questions, do all 3 bikes use the same type of tires? I know soft race rubber can take away about 10hp on a 1000cc! Also don,t u use 520 chain? I believe tires and chain makes at least the same difference as exhaust etc
All 3 bikes were fitted with OEM Pirelli Diablo Super Corsa SP2 tires. Mine has 520 pitch chain and sprockets and the other 2 have OEM chain and sprockets.
Really nice bikes there. IMOP I like Kyle's bike the most just sounds so sweet but don't get me wrong I wouldn't say no to any of them! :-) If you had to choose 1 bike what would you pick. Pani or HP4?? Ride safe.
Hey, thanks for commenting! I'd pick the HP4 because it's very fast, comfortable and looks great. Having said that, I ride my Panigale more than the HP4 because it's more 'fun to ride'.
Why no RPMs or torque on the dyno read outs? Also, the other two bikes had smooth power increases while yours had some spikes and valleys in the lower RPMs? LOVE ALL THREE BIKES! Your sounds the best with the other full exhaust a very close 2nd...
What's up 650ib. In your h2 video you told a viewer that your hp4 was being flashed. Did brentuning come out with a different tune and what results have you seen? I'm thinking about flashing my bike, but it runs flawlessly now, and puts out 196 at the wheel. I just don't want to mess up a good thing. And where do you recommend the best place to get it flashed? Thanks
I appreciate it. It runs perfectly with the pc5 with autotune box. I just can't see how when they flash the ecu with their custom map how that is better than the autotune continuesly correcting the air/fuel ratio when conditions change. Especially here in Ohio. I know guys swear by the brentuning flash, but for +$700 I can't see it being worth it. Just my opinion. I think 196 rwhp is pretty good too on pump fuel.
Let's put this video into perspective. In other words, lets not mix apples and oranges here. The System that comes with the HP4 is an OEM developed system that meets all compliancy regulations. Simply replacing the link pipe and removing the Cat will add horsepower however, if the Akrapovic would have develop a full aftermarket system that was not hindered by meeting OEM compliancy standards, the user would most likely see a greater gain then the Brocks system.
Here is what most people don't know, Take all 3 bikes for a GPS run, and I bet the full Ackropovic without the cat will have more top end/Speed. Ackropovic will read a little lower on hp but out perform all others.
The best sounding bike is the 1199R he left in his garage. The I4 screamers can't compete with the sound of the Ducati, KTM, and Aprilia on the track.
Just want to let you know i really like your videos I would like your educated opinion and thoughts on upgrading from my current 2024 Kawasaki Ninja. Zx6r 636. To a BMW s1000rr what should I know and how is the maintenance cost as well as difficulty of doing my own oil changes as I do now. Thank you for taking to the time.
Notice how your bike and kyles bike are hunting on tic over and james's dosent, are your bikes set up/mapped properly for the change of systems??? if not?? there could be more HP in there if it was. Personaly i think james's sounds best. And i really dont like the look of the brocks and it sounds to raspy for my taste, get a AR Gp 1 or 2 on there :) deeper burble. Good vid and awsome bikes.
Brocks all day but...few have the resources to do what you have done with all of your bikes. However, I am happy to say that mine is set up with the same Brentune and ECU flash and a Full Termignoni exhaust.
one other thing, on kyle's bike, with the race mid pipe, did he only buy the mid pipe, or did he have to buy a calibration CD with it? My dealer informs me that as soon as you remove the CAT, the bike's warranty expires, did they tell you that as well?
ibsabur So Kyle's bike hasn't been tuned? Simply just added the race mid pipe? I'm asking because I'm about to get the race mid pipe myself along with an ECU tune/flash from Max BMW in Brookfield Ct. I'm curious what kind of hp numbers I'll have after. Should be interesting.
Not really. The Merchesini lightweight wheels and lithium ion battery help reduce the weight of the HP4. It also has a different 'map' or ECU tune than the S1000RR.
tell me ibsabur, I see all three bikes have pillion pegs on, did you get it like that from the garage, or did you have to get it as a accessory. I have the competition edition, but mine did not come with pillion pegs
Our bikes came with pillion pegs and mine are magnesium HP pegs. I'm removing my pillion pegs and selling them. I will remove the bracket also. Let me know if you're interested.
I have a HP4 competition with the stock ak pipe with mid pipe. It is huge and would like to go with a Taylor made. How much do you think the stock pipe is worth with the car and mid pipe?
Hello Steeve.. yes, I will resume my workout videos in the fall. I usually go light in the summer, lean up, lose some strength and work on gaining it back in the fall. Thanks for viewing and commenting!
Dyno questons? What fuel were you guys running and from same source and Octane rating? Would be nice on next go to sample Dyno readings with "NO E" premium fuel or Higher Octane Race Fuel vs. 10% gov gas fuel to see if the BTU per pound rating would give you guys a little more HP. Also protect your seals and keep tanks from corrosion during storage in winter time. I run only ZERO "E" fuel in my Ducati for this reason. See what the tech rep @ BMW and master techs say about E fuel "long term" on your assets... The race guys will be able to throw in some comments as well on this subject. Thanks for the post guys.
I speak to 1 of the sells man and he tell me bmw be changing the bike totally overhaul I just want to wait to see it If grabbing a hp 4 or another bike I alredy make a appointment to test ride the pani R and S next Tuesday
+650ib I have the S100RR with an Arrow and it sounds amazing. That HP4 though.... I need that tune as well. I am in Columbus and I can see an Akron Road trip in my future.
ure feel to pronounce a name is wrong, its a person, Slovenian person named Ivan Akrapovic, so tell me how do you pronounce Channing Tatoom ? Its a example and no hard feelings, im a liker not a hater. Nice video. Ride safe!!
yeah well at the beginning of the video, you had like a slightly german accent. But hey, I am german, so what the fuck do I know about english accents :D beautyful bikes btw ;)
