BMW M2 is a car that you can scare children with. I’m also scared. There's no pretending that the new M2 is just a styling evolution. Maybe from the rear or from the side, where you see the traditional for M model wide rear fenders or the BMW’s hallmark - the Hofmeister kink - in the lower corner of the C-pillar. Also BWM talks about references to BMW 2002 and 1M Coupe. The BMW M2 G87 has 460 hp trying to escape through the rear tires. That's more than the M3 F80. With the Competition Pack.

Decided on a new m2 that will be delivered next week. It is a track weapon but I will daily for the time being. Although carbon seats are amazing for a daily use sports seats are way better and also offer heating

It must be a German thing to make the top sport model hideous, garish ie cartoonishly over styled. M2, GT3, GT4 RS.... Yuck. Go buy the M240, or 718 GTS4 and stop pretending you're on a racing track in heavy traffic. Rage over. Said by a guy who has to constantly brake to let the morons in these cars swoop by me because they can't judge that there's no opening in front of me. Thanks for the video though Marek! 😜

I ordered a manual one next to my X5. The G87 being a shorter cheaper M4 really appealed. For example, the lease rate is half of the M4 here.

Great review. Is that engine mercedes made? I know some of their smaller engines are Stellantis engines, I believe? You enjoyed that drive.

Marek, really enjoying your reviews mate! Is it true that this 2 Series is based on the 3/4 Series platform? Also did I get it right that the bash is made from hard plastic!?

It's a RWD platform, which needs to accommodate a longitudinally mounted inline 6-cylinder engine (unlike the transversely mounted inline 4-cylinder engines on the FWD UKL2 platform used for 1, X1, X2, 2 Series Active Tourer and MINI). I can't find the exact information about the platform, but taking into account how big the M2 is, I'd say it's a modified 3 Series platform. I don't recall talking about the dash at all.

Nice reviewing style! But I'd have to completely disregard this review as you clearly can't handle driving a car with this power, making it impossible to give a proper perspective on it. There are 10 levels of configuration to the traction control system making it customisable for different levels of driving ability

I watched nearly every test or opinion video about the M2. This is by far the one with the most negative opinions. I can’t imagine why to be honest. In the most videos people said BMW managed to make a good traction control and DSC, so that you must not be a expert to handle the cars power, like it was at the older M2.

As I said in the review, my experience was on rather used up tires, and mostly in the wet. The rear was braking traction even in regular driving mode at 60-70% throttle. Yes, adjustable DTC is great. You can see it at work when I drive off from my filming location, and the back is out ever so slightly (this is about 5/10 on the DTC scale). However you can also see how I'm fighting at the wheel to keep the car in the straight line, when I'm in sport or sport plus mode. I'm sure it's great on fresh tires, and in the dry.

I understand why M car reviews don’t get views. I always skip BMW M and Mercedes AMG reviews (with exceptions). It’s just boring. The same thing over and over for the last 40+ years.

It doesn't drive like shit at all, this 'review' is literally the only one of hundreds that has that opinion. All the other reviews praise it's driving ability.
