Thank you! We always follow the recommendation of the body shop. That way, if we pop paint, it's not on us. What I've found over the years: As long as the paint was baked after it was sprayed, I have not had any issues installing PPF immediately. I've installed a lot of PPF for body shops over the years with no issues. We did a test with a body shop on my wifes van. We installed PPF the day after it was painted. It has been a couple of years and we have not had any problems. 👍🏻 That body shop now has us put PPF on right after the painting and before the customer takes the vehicle home.
Hey great work here man. I have a carbon roof on an M4 pretty much exact same roof. My carbon is yellowing and I had an idea to maybe get it tinted with window tint (dont think they make tinted ppf) instead of just clear ppf since it would darken the yellowing roof without needed me to get all the labor done to re clearcoat the roof. Any thoughts on this?
Thank you for the feedback! I just got done installing carbon fiber PPF on the hood and spoiler of a Porsche Panamera. This PPF looks amazing. I'll post a couple of pictures on the community board for this channel. As for the tint. Tint will not work. Window tint that is exposed to the elements will go bad super fast. Plus, there is the whole problem with heat shrinking and trying to get it to stick to the roof. It's all bad. You can definitely have vinyl installed over it. Vehicle wrap. You can pick any color or finish. They also have tinted vinyl. I'm not sure what sizes it comes in. Either way, you are going to need to make sure that the roof is very smooth. Otherwise, that bumpyness is going to show after the installation. It might need to be lightly wet sanded. Did you call around and get pricing on having the roof recleared? I'll ask the bosyshop that recleared this roof. I'd figure that vinyl is going to be your most cost-effective option. But you are probably looking at 3-5 years for the lifespan of vinyl on a roof. PPF will be 7-10 years.
@@EncorePPFtint Yea i need to call around more for a quote on the clear coat. Currently turning the car into a full track car so not too concerned with looks. I am located in the bay area, so stockton is not too far if it can be a single day job for tinted vinyl or ppf. Definitely will contact you in the near future. Thanks
It's slip solution in the keg with the hose and tac solution in the spray bottle. Sometimes, I put water in the spay bottle as well. Here is a video that goes over my solutions and ratios: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGjn2rwh-W4.htmlsi=KFlR9jiA3IXrVoUz
We can definitely get you some info on this new film. I really like it. It installs just as nicely as the PremiumShield. It's the same thickness and stretches great.
I'm shocked how important the blades are. All this time i've been trying to score the film with crap knives. I found one knife with no markings on it at all that works amazing, I may need to order some from you and trash the ones I have. So what all do you have in your tool pouch? Any tools you've not shown lately?
That's a great thing to figure out! I only use OLFA knifes and replacement blades. Other blades have always had sharpness issues. Let me take a look tomorrow and see if I have anything new in there. 👍 Did you ever watch my video that covers all of the tools you need for PPF installations? I do show all the tools in my pouch in that video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oQlGzV0AAF0.html
