For all wondering: the valves are closed if the car is not moving at all. The car does this by itself. Even if you push the sport exhaust button to open the valves, they stay closed if the car is not moving. I have the M8 competition and can say that for sure. First I was disappointed when I picked up my car and rev it. That’s why the sound sounds so poor. BMW had to make that to reduce noise for citizens who cannot sleep at night and of course because „OPF“. OPF is a Mechanic to reduce noise even further. The car sounds pretty nice when it’s rolling and the valves open.

I don't buy this video! What is this bullshit? Anyone can make a video of a car by just showing the instrumental cluster of any top notch vehicle and say they are driving it, you should show the vehicle moving along with the speedometer. Who knows this can be the instrumental cluster of a video game as well lol.
