Another interesting episode thanks. Wow how many months to get that bike fixed! When I saw the R9T first launched I thought it a genius bit of marketing by BMW to sell off their old engines. Actually now I do appreciate the looks more and I guess you get that character when you rev them and you get the sideways motion. Maynard's bike does look the business, just not sure I could ride one far.
I’m the same, don’t think I could ever get on with it riding wise, but it certainly is a looker, just glad Maynard finally has it back at home where it belongs, i’ve never heard of such a lengthy repair 🤦♂️ Thanks for your continued support mate 🤘
Love the Cafe racers and both the Thruxton and Maynards R Nine T are both up there, one of my future quests is to either own or Cafe Race and XJR 1300…great video again Wolfies bring on the next one….top job chaps.
BMW should have produced these in the original R90S paint schemes. Daytona Orange w/ Red pinstriping and the Silver Smoke w/Gold pinstriping. This was supposed to be a heritage bike. The Concept 90 bike was spot on in Daytona Orange.
i have just spent a sunday nailing one of these round the derbyshire dales and they are an awesome bike with sublime engineering. The one i rode did have a heli bar conversion and really does make a massive difference to the ride. one of the best looking bikes on the market.
@@TheRhythmicBiker it is an awesome piece of machinery mate, I’ve filmed it and done a little review, mainly me just saying “this bike is awesome” a lot 😂. But I’ve got another video of me riding a panigale to edit first, truly spoilt this weekend with awesome bikes to ride.
Great to get some thoughts and words from Uncle Red 🙂 I was very tempted by the R nine T when it first came out... but BMW wouldn't be reasonable on part exchanging my year old ZX636R so I got a Ducati Sport Classic Biposto instead which was the original retro cafe racer... an bike way ahead of it's time in looking old! :D
@@TheRhythmicBiker I had hoped to keep it as an investment, but it took up too much room to not be ridden much, sold it and then got 2 more bikes lol... but I ride the ones I have more than I did that one.

Most beutiful mass production bike i have ever seen! I own the W800 Cafe because of the similar look. Already have a fast bike, i wantd around town, summer bike. I didnt look at the BMW because of the dealership and i am not a BMW owner to them, i am blue collar guy.
Great looking bike. If it were not for the dealership I would have to deal with, I would add BMW back into my options. Had a R1150RT and did not enjoy working with the only dealership in town for 100 miles.

I started looking for my second bike, and used excel to weight pros and cons for every bike I like. After two weeks of consideration and calculation I opted for a Kawasaki Z900rs (4 cyl) and was extremely happy with the choice... on the way to Kawasaki to try it and order it, a suited (with tie) bloke stopped by my side on one of these. It was like hitting a reset button. Until today I haven't ordered the Kawasaki... and still dream of a BMW nineT racer. It's like having your marriage set with a perfect, lovelly, smart, witty girl, and meeting her unforgetable sister on the day of saying YES.
Load of rubbish spoken about the riding position on the Racers… it’s no more extreme than a GSXR750. They are not at all uncomfortable, unless you compare it to other RNineT variants and that was the problem… As the guy said, it’s not a sportsbike, great engine but terrible shock and forks… shared by the rest of the range… but Ohlins cartridge and a rear shock and the thing is transformed. But you know… the whole range is built to a price and it was partly for owners to customise. As for the screen, it looks great, complete 1970’s racing bike and works very well.
I agree. Used to own a '99 Aprilia Mille before my Nine-T Racer. Far more extreme riding position, seat basically a plank with some upholstery pulled over it. Used to take weekend holidays from Holland to the Black Forest in Germany on it. Already in my 40's at that time, the youngsters on their bikes were the first to want a short break, I could ride it for hours no problem. Compared to that, the Nine-T Racer is rather plush.
