BMW R18 Transcontinental First Ride - A Fantastic Beast!

The phone holder isn't wireless charging, there is a USB port in there for a cable to connect to your phone. You can then connect to the bike with bluetooth and wifi which will give you navigation through the BMW app. I've done 12,000k's on mine and absolutely love it.

Great review Rikky, just a tip if you are on a heavy bike turn the bars to the right before standing it up. Makes it easier on most bikes actually 👍

I own this bike and never have any issue with shifting. My other bike is a GS Adventure that bike is more sporty, but this one just sit so planted on the road. It is a great cruiser. with a Corbin custom seat, you can ride this thing all day on any paved road. last year I broke mine in on the Tail of The Dragon. It is just a great cruiser.

You did ride a Suzuki Hayabusa 2 years ago which had analog dials with a similar layout. It’s a nice looking bike but 427kg is terrifying! The camera shot of the universal joint very nice. Did the bike have reverse gear? As always thanks for uploading.

Once again a lovely and comprehensive review Ricky, thank you. It competes against the Goldwing, being at least about £8,000 cheaper. However, you are brave. I have been riding bikes off and on since 1979, including a GSXR750R, a Triumph Bonnie and now a BMWR1250R. However, these big cruisers intimidate me.

great review man. i have been riding for yonks and i was also like a newbie on the two test rides before i took a leap of faith and bought her. got same bike, same colour but with hand painted pin striping, love this bike man and she corners better than anyone would think

Well Rikky as a person who has never been keen on the boxer engine style, I find myself actually liking the look of this model of the R18 especially in this blue ,It's a heavy beasty and for me just to much although the seat height would be very good . I like the dash the fairing and clock set up not so sure about all those electronic gismos but the bars look to make for a nice position their would be one aid I would have expected on a bike at this price level and that is blind spot detection , which I happen to think should be on all new bikes these days ,this is a piece of electronic trickery that is very worthwhile IMO .Not sure about the exposed shaft , does it have a reverse mode because I reckon it probably should 😉good review well done 👌👍

Well I have to say I didn't really like this model Rikky but this version in that blue with that fairing and even the boxes look bloody nice not a boxer fan either but again I fined myself liking this one enormous though it is 😉 like the dash and it looks really comfortable with those bars I am guessing it doesn't have blind spot detection which at that price and spec I would expect .Very good review as usual 👌👍

I love your reviews Ricky. I have had a BMWR1250R for 3 years now. Great bike, but it is my first with a TFT display. Candidly I cannot get used to it, Miss clocks. This bikes has clocks.

It's the same weight as F 750gs

I put an air horn on my bike. Very loud.
