BMW Service - '92 K75 - This last ran, when?! 

Practically new motorcycle. Fuel pump doesn't cost a cow, i got new one for 60 euros in UK. What a waste of motorcycle..

Hi Chris, had the same corroded fuel-pump in my K75RT which I bought years ago for a very low price. The bike was left 5 years without running in the garage. Since change of fuel pump (replacement pump was 45€) its running very reliable so I already made some tours to the alps (France/Italy/Slovenia). We (my friend and me) are following your channel since we bought a dutch police-bike K75RT (for 800 €) having a mileage of 150.000 km. Yes, it was a bit "incontinent"(=leaking) as old ladys do sometimes, but who cares... We made full replacement of all wearparts and the bike is running since today. Meanwhile I have added to my K75RT a R80RT, K1100LT and a R1100GS to my fleet while my friend has added to his K75RT a K1100RS (in beautiful light blue metallic) into his garage. We both appreciate your "pragmatism"/your stile/your comments during watching your videos. Most amazing story: the "siliconed" ring at the clutch..what a laugh!) And we fully agree: repairing, maintaining and driving BMW (old Boxer and K-models) is not only making fun..it´s a bit of "way of living"! Thanks for this and all videos published ever. An aftermarket pump, cheap as chips. get you back on the road.

Nothing wrong here that a decent shade tree mechanic cannot fix. However, if you have a caviar appetite and tuna budget....you better not plan on paying a professional mechanic to fix up a beater. Waste of $250 worth of time. If you found these problems yourself... you could have spent the $150 on an after market or used pump, new fluids and plugs, and hired chris to synch the cabs, adjust the valves which wants more skills.

If a fuel pump and tires was all it needed I’d buy it. Would commute happily everyday all year on that bike.

What a shame to owner couldn't cough up a small amount for a new fuel pump. That's a low mileage bike with excellent compression - lots of life left in it.

That is a real shame. Too bad that the owner didn't want you to fix it. But this shows how bad gasohol is for these bikes. I make sure that the last 2 fill ups before winter is with non-alcohol gasoline. My '92 K100RS appreciates it!

Had a customer who had one of these.Bike waas parked for around 10 years,it changed color on one side from the sun.I replaced fuel pump,lines,plug and oil,and she started right up idling perfect.Oh,she also hal 297000km on the speedo

Never understood why so many people love these so called low mileage bikes that are 20 years plus old. It means they had stood still for many, many months or even years. If i had to choose between a low mileage bike like this, or one that has many miles more and has had their regular services, i'd go for the one with the high mileage. These bikes are meant to be ridden, not stored inside some barn or something and become a home for mice and all kinds of crap sitting everywhere.

Wow. Hard to believe anyone would buy a bike and not clean it up as a first step.

Got a new fuel pump ready with the filter to go in my K75.......I suspect gradual loss of fuel pressure leading to loss of power above about 4000 rpm. Also got new injectors and spare EFI brain . Also may have to change the ignition Hall sensors.........I am still after one of those headlight fairings on the bike in the video.

Why do people waste your precious time if they're not getting such a beautiful vehicle back on the road it's a life experience to have such a vehicle

Great vid, thorough troubleshooting. I'm thinking send out the gas tank for repair and relining , after market fuel pump and new hoses. Think would fix that. It would be worth working a little over time to come up the the repair money. Oh I forgot, there are no jobs.

I used a pump from a 90s Ford Thunderbird for my 85 k100rt. It wasn't a perfect fit so I had to rig it with some fuel line and a hose clamp to get it to work. A shop wouldn't do work like this but I got the bike on the road. The OEM pump is 4 or 5 times the cost of the pump I got at NAPA.

Sad to see someone buy a bike not knowing it can be 2K to make it safe to ride. It's a $3500 bike if everything is updated.
