@@autogefuehl I'm from Tucson.It's a hard question.Not because it's my state but Az is not all desert and cactus.There are extremes in climate and vegetation.Each with it's own particular beauty.There is nothing like a Arizona sunset whether your in the desert,hills or in a pine forest.Glad you liked it.

Thomas - Thank you for the response and the link. I watched the video and the related videos in the comments. I like red meat and believe that cows are on the earth for us to eat. I respect that you don’t and understand why you don’t. I don’t believe that is unethical to eat meat. Is a lion unethical when it chases down a gazelle? I think not. I believe it’s the natural order of things for us to eat animals. I think it would be unethical if we didn’t use the skin of an animal and just ate the meat or visa versa, but that is not what happens the majority of the time, both the skin and the meat of the cow are consumed. Also I have Ultra Leather in another car and it is does not wear as well as leather, it does not have the slight variation in color of leather and I think it is arguably more unethical, for me, than leather. It’s created from petroleum, while the animal skin would otherwise go unused in my world since I plan to eat the cow. MBTex and Sensatec are cheap feeling and wear out faster in my experience. That is not sustainable. You need to understand that saying your opinion is ethical, implies that those of us that believe cows are here to be consumed are unethical, which isn’t true and irritates loyal viewers like me. Again, appreciate you have an opinion, but it gets a bit preachy sometimes. Just say you prefer a choice of other materials and leave it at that, no need to imply that the material the rest of us prefer is unethical, it’s not.

However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette. Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Yeah absolutely. They always say "The customer doenst want it". But that's not true. Customers want luxury AND sustainability, most people buying this car also like or love animals and dont want to contribute to suffering anymore. But some manufacturers just don't get it, at least not fast enough. Thanks for caring m8

@@autogefuehl I realize that but Arizona is a long ways from South Carolina and I was wondering how you came to get them in Arizona with SC plates. You must have picked them up at the factory and drove them all the way to Arizona for the shoot or they delivered them to you in Arizona. I've picked up my BMW at Spartanburg so YES I know there made there. It seem a bit out of place to see a South Carolina plate in Arizona so I thought I would ask!

No. Ever since the X7 came out, production on third-row seats on all X5 models stopped, I hear.

Lightning Farron They continued the 3rd row option for the X5 after a few months the X7 released. Just not the M versions. BMW never really made 3rd row X5Ms. BMW doesn’t think people who buy the M want 3 rows.
