Same with X5 and GLE. I found the GLE more spacious compared to X5 and I like the GLE interior but it kind of felt like a boat on the motorway. I tend to drive with a heavy foot when there are no cameras around so that was a big No. the quality of the interiors is better on the X5 feels more solid n expensive. No creaks anywhere. So I was pushed towards the X5. But then for 10k more I can get the X7 with laser lights. So confusing. Btw You don’t get the m50d anymore which is a shame cuz that’s the best.
looked and tried both of these initially leaned towards the gls but after test drives went and ordered the x7 due in a few months the GLS was good on the eye at a distance and all but once in side the quality of the x7 outdoes the gls.
In this segment I agree. BMW did a better job of making the x7 feel like a 7 series than Mercedes did making the GLS feel like an S class. The GLS has the E class interior which isn’t bad but you can see and feel the bmw took the interior quality a step further .
I disagree. Upper large is around 700-900kg heavier than large SUVs. To not have the category separated would be unwise. Price difference between luxury and non luxury entry level models can be $50k-100k too. Why would anyone want them all lumped together?

I owned a GLE in Asia, I've test driven the GLS and X7, ultimately I bought the X7. You forgot to mention the build quality. It is just so much better in the X7. The GLS and GLE creaks everywhere, especially in the wood trims.. and the acceleration and feel of the car, even though both have plenty of power, the GLS just can't compare to the X7 in terms of versatility and the feel of acceleration.
Hi Keith, I've been a bmw owner since my late 20s and am thinking to upgrade to a 7 seater. Skipped X5 and got my eyes fixed on GLE as the interior looks so much more posh. So as a GLE owner have you had any issues other than funny noice?
@@scwong6349 Hi other than creaking I didn't have any other issues! I just personally like the driving experience better in the BMW because the engine is more alive to me. But the GLE is very comfortable and much more spacious than the x5. So if you are looking for a space upgrade and a 7 seater the GLE is the better choice than X5!

What about the Hyundai Palisade. Has many of the safety features at $80k. Not in the same class for engine power or suspension but bang for your buck is there.
BMW has the B58 motor, that engine is bullet proof sir. Toyota wouldn’t be putting that motor in the Supra if it was unreliable. And if you do have your BMW or any high end car at the shop especially BMW in this case your neglecting the car, wrong oil, gas, not changing oil on point, revving and driving hard on cold days or even cold start ups, tuning or previous owner neglect, and last but no least cheap owners putting crap parts which breaks one part and then another part because BMW wraps it in one package. BMWs are strong engines. Avoid early N63 / S63 2010-2014, All M60s 90-2003, S85/65 V10/V8 then you have a good car and it’s up to you how you want to treat it.
@@csm1015 depends how long you keep it. With the amount of electronics in new cars, shit obviously goes wrong around the 5+ year mark. On the other end of the spectrum buy a car with no electronics or substandard ones then it will last longer. It really depends how you wanna live. In saying that, things going wrong isnt that big of a deal, it happens but not as much as you think.
@@csm1015 Electronics? BMWs don’t really have electronic issues like the wiring or sensors going back that easily on the G series, there is glitches though that you have to go the dealer but those are quick and easy fixed and cheap from the dealer. But these electronics don’t harm the car to an extent where it damages engines. The most issues your going to get with electronics are probably hand gesture not working, dash doesn’t show a specific detail or a button not working that’s all easy fixes from the dealer.
how the real life seen it, GLS but still, Germans them self they dont trust their cars XD.. if they do.. they will give you 10+ years warranty for whole the car ( even the doors rubbers ) both cars are made for 1 year or 2 years in optimal conditions . this is real life..
@@Msr.shaikh482 Audi is well beyond mercedes and bmw since like 2010. Unless ur 1 one of those poor europeans with 3 cylinders Audi a1 or q2. But large Audis are better than bmw and Mercedes corrispectives
