Bo Burnham is a GENIUS 

You know, I just love when someone is watching that intense shift in this song (you know the part) and they feel it! I could tell you were feeling it. Thank you for getting Bo's message! It is almost disappointing when the person watching laughs through that shift like it's supposed to be funny. Or they look uncomfortable but laugh anyway. I really appreciate your reaction to this genius! Bo has a way of getting us to feel and think! Thank you!

Absolutely loved this reaction, the tonal shift hit me hard the first time too. A bit of trivia: Bo was having a panic attack throughout this performance, and it actually caused him to go off script. This wasn't normal at all for Bo, he made sure that every joke landed exactly when it was supposed to with no type of improv whatsoever. The third scream at the end of the song wasn't planned, and from what I've heard, the crew for the show got really worried when he threw that third scream in. After he left the stage, I believe he locked himself in his dressing room and stayed there until he could calm himself down from the panic attack. He tells a story about it in his special "Inside"

I think losing yourself in the song and not saying much is the suitable reaction, because this was not designed to be reacted to. You're supposed to listen and absorb Bo's message, not laugh over it or keep talking over it like so many reaction channels do. Your reaction to this was 100% genuine and that is appreciated so much on so many levels. I'd be curious to see your reaction to "We Think We Know You" and "All Eyes On Me", both of which have similar messages. AEOM won him a Grammy for good reason, highly recommend!

He said that he was actually having a panic attack on stage and after he walked off, he rolled up on the floor and cried for 2 hours. Panic attacks were very frequent so he took his leave, knowing that he may have never tried to return. After 5 years, he thought he was ready and just before he was set to return... Covid hit and he was forced back into his isolation. His mental health quickly relapsed but he pushed through to bring us "INSIDE." Bo Burnham is a legit role model for struggling artists

That spot in the song hits me every time I watch it mate. This was 8 years ago now and Bo was suffering from panic attacks on stage. You can hear it in his voice at the end when he yells. After this he quit live shows and it was 5 years later he made "Inside". Have you checked out much of Tim Minchin, he is an Aussie and pretty sure was an influence on Bo. 💜🇦🇺

He did have a panic attack on stage one time. After that happened he went on hiatus. He did plan on touring again in 2020, but the pandemic hit at that time. Which is why he made Inside. Last year, on the one year mark, he released The Inside Outtakes.

How much of Inside have you heard? He actually quit performing after this for 5 years after this performance. He was quite serious about the toll his work was taking on him.

From what I've heard of this showing (not sure how true it is) Bo went back stage and cried. (Again. This could have just been false info, but i wouldn't be surprised.)

It always feels so weird to hear Bo say.. "I should probably just shut up and do my job." To go back into the comedy about Chipotle and the entire crowd cheers and goes nuts. It's like, did they even listen? But then he even addresses that they don't get it and tries again.

I know youtube doesn't work like this, but if you watched inside in full and not in segments you'd get an insane more out out of it. It's so good as a whole experience!

The first half is jokes because that's what the audience want, and it parodies Kanye rapping about trivial shit, then the second half admits what is happening but deconstruct it by saying comedy is just repetition then he repeats the jokes from the first half but now you know he is trying to not fall apart.
