Did you know that a lot of these movies for blacks only were re-discovered inside a warehouse in Tyler, Texas? It's true. And if it hadn't been for this happenstance, these movies would be unknown today. They might even be lost today. Thank God that this bit of cinematic culture is still around for historical reasons. I hope these movies do not ever get cancelled by these self-appointed social justice warriors. They are no worse than the stuff of today.

So good to see this, loads of Talent! Loved the tap dancers and the Crip guy -- amazing. Really smooth orchestra too. My Granny loved Mom's Mabley, this was the youngest (and prettiest!) I've ever seen her. Thanks for sharing these gems P Flix. ❤🌠

Most black people like myself never knew these movies existed. They would not play certain movies in the south. Great movie!

It is true refreshing to see some of the old timers performing. Reminds me of Sanford and Son.

I heard Moms Mabley tell the funniest story about a Greyhound Bus back in the 1960's. It was on a vinyl record.

OH WOW.... I saw this movie once before along with many others like it. Well first I'm not THAT old but When I was a 5yr old back in the 60's in North Carolina. We had one black library that had a collection of these movies and in the summer month's my mom use to send us to go watch with other kids. I didn't know it at the time but I was very fortunate to have been sitting giggling with the other black children. No nothing against Africa or Africans but we didn't identify as "African Americans" and I still don't I was born here in America where this movie was manufactured...

PizzaFlix, just for posting these wonderful films during "Black History Month" I am subscribing. I don't know why I need to say this, but I am not African American.

I had no idea Moms Mabley was around back then in the 40’s. She was very young back then. She dressed up like she was an old maid but she was young back then. That was her trademark. I wonder if they have any old clips of Redd Foxx back then. He worked the Chitlin’ circuit.

I can't figure out the the name of the actors who played Spider Bruce, Charlie and Vivian Harris @12:25 till 20:50. Vivian reminds me a whole lot of Della Reese but she would have been only 17 around this time. Her bio says she was doing odd jobs at this time to make ends meet. I haven't gotten past this point in the film yet. :)

This is interesting… I won’t say its funny, but its basically a vaudeville show recorded on film. I might think it was funny if I was watching it live in the 20’s.

After all the fine, old movies made with great actors whose names were never known, Black cinema comes up with this? The Madea of that era. 🙄🙄🙄 I'll wager ALL of these other comments are fake.

These are great movies and i am grateful for Moms Mabley, but the idea that they had to use white people in black face rather than all the talent among the black actors of that era still bothers me when i see it.

You’ve no need to sweat it,! White history month is allotted 12 months, whilst black history is always restricted to just the one! 🤣🤓

OK, I watched.....starting at 41:00 and stayed with it until Moms Mabley returned. I agree that a couple of the acts had talent but that talent was really dated and would not hold up today. Sorry but this time I was bored out of my mind.
