We're allowed to get special permission to sleep we just have to tell our student life counselors. But if we don;t tell anyone then we would get grounded. We don't have to pay tuition but we do have to pay room and board.
Lynda Harte she answered this on another comment...she said that they just have to check in and do face check before they go to sleep and get permission to go to sleep early :)
Tea Embo hmmmm idk. I don't go to boarding school, but maybe just hope to have a roommate nice enough to say "hey _____ is sleeping, you can come see in our room that she's actually there if you want to be sure"
U will probably just check in early and say to the person u have to check into.... "hey, I have had a really bad day so I am going to bed early, can this just be my fave check?" Easy done
Taylor Durkee I went to boarding school, and if you are sick you have to go to the student health center first, and they will either tell you to go to class, have you stay in the health center, or have you on dorm rest for the day
Do you guys have a dress code? If so, is it different than a public school would be? Also what do you do if you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night?
Some states have boarding schools for STEM or other programs that are tuition-free. I went to the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, and it was free for anyone accepted.
At the boarding school I worked at, there were 8pms--you had to be in your room from 8pm to 8am the next morning, with only your roommate able to talk to you. We also had 48s, the same thing from 8pm Friday to 8am Monday (yes, I know, longer than 48 hours), with only 15 minutes to pick up your meals and take them back to your dorm.
I could never survive boarding school tbh. I've never shared a room in my life (perks of being an only child), I literally don't go to bed until 1:30 am and normally brush my teeth at 1:15, and just in general I could never survive
Vanna Gmann you go to the health center and the nurses there will decide if you go to class, stay in the nurses office, or stay in your dorm for the day
Can you please tell me which school you go to. It looks really nice and i am getting bullied in my public school so my parents are looking to send me to boarding school and i wanna mention this one
I've been watching a lot of your videos about boarding school lately and I was just wondering if Canadians can attend your boarding school? I'm from Canada and I'm not sure if I would be considered a international student.
Hi Taylor I love your videos I just wanted to ask that I want to go to a boarding school but I watched videos on RU-vid and people say things like you lose your freedom and boarding school is strict and all I don't know what to do ??🤔🤔
Saumya Chauhan thank you! definitely do your research and visit multiple schools. Usually you'll get a tour from a student and you may even be able to shadow a student for the whole day. Every school is different you just have to find the right one for you 😊
Elysia Giles She goes to the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities; which is on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana
HI Taylor, I'm a Dutch student and for my research I have a 3 questions about boarding schools, hope you don't mind. 1. How do you attend boarding school, are there any kind of rules ,like you need this IQ or grades or something? 2. Are there different niveau classes for every subject, like History for people who are smarter or something? 3. Do the teacher give extra classes after school if you have problems with your class or homework? Btw love your videos, It helps a lot with my project.
Klaske Anne 1. Yes, there are certain standards put into place at my school and you have to apply like applying for college. I'm not sure what he required SAT score is for the new SAT but for the old SAT it was 1500. 2. Our classes are more advanced than public school and are taught at the college level. we do have a choice in some courses between college level and Advanced Placement, AP being harder. 3.We don't have extra classes for tutoring but our teachers have office hours and we can go visit them for help. Hope those answered your questions!!
Hey! Just came across your channel! Definitely subscribing! Also, I live in Indiana and I had absolutely no idea we had boarding schools! I've been wanting to go for so long!! I live on Purdue campus now but would love to move to a boarding school like yours! How old do you have to be?
hold up, im so confused.. what boarding school does she go to? hers looks really nice and I might go to one next year but don't know which one to look into and this one seems like a pretty good one soo... which one is it??
Thanks for replying but the problem is that I'm going overseas so I don't know about the school until I get there so what should I do. I'm also worried about going away and leaving my family missing all the festivals since an overseas boarding school wouldn't have holidays for my festivals and also missing family trips but I want to go to a boarding school ,,........... Any advice?? ❤️❤️ I love you !!
You just have to kind of weigh what is more important to you. I would look into possibly reaching out to a current student at the school you're looking at on social media and ask them about it.
racheid77 you don't automatically get in but most everyone does get in because we have to keep up certain grades to stay enrolled at our school. Also if we have above a certain GPA we get a scholarship that is dedicated to our school because the school is owned by the university. Basically they pool in the state's smartest kids in hopes that they'll come to the university lol
Tea Embo oh I just saw this she said you have to request an early sleep time or you get grounded because they have a heavy work load they need to be up until late and should be studying
