Scott. Just stunning! Fabulous collection and preservation of our wooden boating history (and glass too). Early in the video GJR ad Red Cloud were standouts!!! CICADA is an amazing boat as well. Thank you so much!
I used to see them when I was a kid on the Seneca River (Barge Canal in NY) but only cabin cruisers. I've heard of smaller ones but never came across one myself.
@@glassgoat9601 I hav one and been watching for inspiration. It is very similar to your Lyman. Wish I could load a picture here for you. It’s 1958 Trojan Bimini with a ford y block v8.
@@micahmcdonald2180 I just looked it up on google. Looks like maybe it is a plywood hull? They do look similar to a Lyman with maybe a bit more freeboard. What kind of shape is yours in?
I didn’t find any rot. The previous owner kept good bilge paint and new bottom paint. It was in a barn in Iowa for the last 30 years. I’ll pull all the floors this spring to inspect further and clean. Then I’ll put it in a lake and see how fast and from where it leeks. That will tell me if I can run it for a season or two before a full restoration. There isn’t any bare wood and everything seems to be in fair shape. I’ve done a lot more with fiberglass sail boats so appreciate your content.
