Had the same issue with my 2006 3.0L Mercury after not having started it since the winter. One click and no start. I first jumped the relay (connect the positive terminal to the negative terminal). Soon as I did that, I heard the starter working. This confirmed it was the relay. Replaced the relay for CAD$50 and she fired right up purring beautifully. Thanks for the video 🙏🙏🙏🙏
My boat does the same thing. It clicks but the starter won’t engage sometimes. I was going to replace the starter but it looks like it’s not that old, like it has been replaced in the past. It’s a 4.3 MerCruiser. I’m going to find the relay and see if that is the problem.
@@edubs6532 yea mines was starter but it was a biiiiatxh to get to because I have a inboard and it's on the bottom back end.. forsure it start if it click and no start my dad truck just did the same thjnf
Mine is doing something similar. The starter was replaced only 2 years ago, now when I try to start it I just hear one loud click. I've replaced the Battery and the starter relay but am still only getting the one loud click. I think the starter might be the issue because when the key is turned and the starter is tapped with a hammer, it acts like it wants to turn over but wont. At a complete loss...
@@plamendobrev5416 I ended up replacing the starter and that solved it. Pretty sure it got submerged at some point sitting in the driveway during heavy rain with the drain plug still in. Lesson learned.
